"Done!!! I win nutmeg" yasmin sang while doing a silly little victory dance.
"You only won because you cheated Yaya"
Yasmin and I have been parking my stuff for the since 01 am in the morning.
"I think I'm going to die..I need to get some rest nutmeg"
"But we are not yet done we only packed my clothes, wat about my utensils? Like my curling iron and dryer and personal stuff...you know I can pack all that stuff alone" I whined.
"You can pack all that stuff later nutmeg, I'm exhausted" she says finally plopping down on her bed "plus it's 4 in the morning we need to get some rest" she continues.
I look at the time and eventually agree with her,  I grab my sleeping pills and a bottle of water.
I swallow my pills and make my way to yasmin's bed.
"Is it okay if sleep with you??" I ask
"Of course" she say making some room for me.
I lay on her leaving a small distance between us.
"Yaya?"
"Yes nutmeg?"
"Are you going to miss me?"
"Words can't even begin to explain how much I'm going to miss you?" She says moving closer to me closing the small gap between us.

"Good morning sleeping beauty" I hear Jordan say.
Wait Jordan? What time did she get here?
"Jordan? What time did you get here? Aren't you supposed to be at school? And are those bagels from the breakfast fast bar?" I ask all in one breath.
"Okay then, good morning to you too"
"Sorry Jordan"
"Okay so firstly yes it's me Jordan in the flesh, secondly I got here an hour ago, thirdly I left school after I found out there was nothing happening and  lastly yes they are bagels from the breakfast fast bar...happy now???"
"For how long was I asleep for?"
"Ohh for 6hrs" yasmin replies like it's no big deal that I slept for 6 freaking hours.
"What?!?! What time is it?!?!"
"It's thirty minutes past 9" Jordan replies
"I'm going to take a shower"
I grab my utensils from my dresser and headed to my bathroom.
I stripped out of my pj's and turned on the shower with cold water.
I stepped inside and let myself relax under the cold water, I know it sounds weird that I'm taking a cold shower but I've always found cold water so comforting.

"Took you long enough, hey sister Claire come by, she said your parents are going to be here soon, so get ready" yasmin said "here I  picked out an outfit for you" she continues
I pick up the out and stare at it, she really is good at making cute outfits.
I rub on my body lotion quickly and also succeed in scratch myself in process but they wont leave any visible marks
I quickly pull my little black dress over my head and tie the laces to my red Vans, then tie my hair into a neat pony tail and curl the ends of my ponytail.
"Done, how do I look?" I ask getting down the stairs.
"I'm loving the dress, damn I'm so freaking good at what I do" yasmin says clapping her hands together.
"Yeah yeah whatever, now let's eat" I say digging into a bagel.
"Hey we didn't give grace" yasmin said slapping the bagel ont of my hand.
"Geez yasmin you could've just said it without slapping the bagel out of my hands!"
"Okay I'm sorry"
I quickly take my seat next to Jordan and give grace to the food before we dig in.
"Uhh you guys..." yasmin started making us turn our attention to her "I think I have a crush on Dwayne"
"WHAT!?!?" Jordan and I shouted at the same time with our mouths wide open.
"What makes you say that?" I ask taking a sip of my coffee
"Wellll we...ehem we have been hanging out and we sorta, kinda, might have kissed" she said with a nervous smile on her face.
"Yaya I'm your bestfriend and I'm going to be completely honest with you.." I said.
"Yes go on"
"Leave him, he is a total waste of time and space in your life and he is eventually going to break your heart, even though we all know that not possible cause there is no such thing as a broken heart"
I was just being completely honest with yasmin, she doesn't need that Dwayne guy.
"Meghan that was so rude of you" Jordan said punching me slightly "yasmin just do as your heart desires" Jordan tells her giving her a smile, I really wanted to argue with Jordan about what she had just said but seconded that thought and left the conversation.
We spent the rest of our day laughing and chatting and even watching some movies before Jordan decided to go back home.
Then the time I had been dreading about my entire life had come, I think I had avoided this day enough for the past 11yrs and the time had finally come.
"You ready nutmeg" yasmin asked
"Yeah sure, it's not like I have choice" I chuckled lightly
I walked down with my  suitcase in one hand and a little toiletry bag in the other while yasmin helped me with my remaining bags to the living room where Nicholas and his wife Shannon were waiting.
"Hey sweetie, you ready to home?" Shannon asked as she took my suitcase and layed it aside.
Shannon is a really pretty lady with her piercing green eyes, her green eyes made me start to like mine cause her shade of green was similar to mine, her dirty blonde hair that she let down almost as long as mine but hers reached above her waist. I somehow look like her but not exactly like her, I think now I know why she choose me.
"Nutmeg! Nutmeg!" I heard yasmin call as she waved her hands in front if me to snap me out of the trance I was in.
"Huh? Huh? What?"
"We are about to leave honey, your bags have already been put in the trunk" Shannon said placing a hand on my shoulder.
"I'll miss you nutmeg" yasmin choked out as she dived into me to give a tight hug. I could feel her tears in my neck. I actually thought I was going to be the first one to crush but I guess I was wrong.
"I'll miss you more Yaya" I couldn't hold in my tears for any longer than I had intended to.
"I dont want to leave you here, I don't want to leave you alone yasmin, you are my best friend Yaya, you're my sister, you're my everything, I can't leave here" I cried out I was aware that Nicholas and shannon were watching but I didn't care I didn't want to leave the only person who managed to keep me sane.
"I love you nutmeg, but you'll just have to go, I love you too much, I can't be selfish and let you stay here with me when you have a family"
"Ohhh Meghan honey there is no need to cry, yasmin is free to come over anytime and she can stay with us for as long she likes, so long as you are happy we're happy" Shannon said.
Hearing Shannon say that made this a lot easier but I still didn't want to leave yasmin.
"Really? So she can come over tomorrow? Can she also sleep over?" Asked as I pulled away from yasmin.
"Of course she can, anything as long as you're happy nutmeg" she said pulling both yasmin and I into her warm embrace.

It was a long drive to Nicholas and Shannon's house, but we eventually got there but it was still pretty late.
When we arrived Nicholas pulled up in the driveway of a big mansion with vineyards on the wall the place was really beautiful, but I couldn't see the place clearly due to it being dark outside. We got out of the car and made our way into the house.
"WELCOME HOME MEGHAN" a group of people shouted as we entered what I think is living room.
I as soon as I heard the people shout I quickly stumbled back and dropped my phone. I looked up to the people in front of me and I think these people are my new parents relatives.
The room was decorated beautifully with a big banner the said 'welcome home Meghan'  in pink, balloons everywhere in the room, and on a little coffee table sat some gift boxes wrapped in pink and purple wrapping paper.
"Go on doll face, do you like it??" Nicholas asked, it was the first thing he has said to me today.
"I-I-I don't- I don't-" i stammered breathlessly not knowing the right words to say.
"You don't like it doll face? We could always change it? What are you all waiting for? My daughter doesn't like this, take it down all of it, right now!" Nicholas boomed at every one in the room.
In seconds every started taking down the beautiful decorations that were hang up just for me.
"No, no, no, no, don't take that down please" I begged and everyone stopped and began staring at me with confusion in their eyes, They must have been confused as to why I stopped them, cause clearly they all thought I hated what they had done for me.
"What's wrong doll face? I thought you didn't like this?" Nicholas said placing his hand on my cheek.
"Honey it's fine if you don't like it we can do it again" Shannon continued.
"Noo it isn't like that, you didn't let me finish, I love it, thank you very much" I said smiling at everyone in the room.
"Ohhhh thank God you love it Megan" a brunette who is around my age sighed in relief.
"Excuse me?" I asked with an amused look on my face.
"Ohh sorry, my name is Antoinette but you can call me Tony or Nettie whichever suits you best" she says "so back to what I was saying, I'm so glad you like the surprise, cause Nicholas would have made a huge fuss about it"
Tony looked alot like Mr. Nicholas I could tell that they are siblings.
As time passed we all sat down and I was introduced to the rest  of the family as we waited for dinner, once it was ready we all walked into the huge dinner room, I could tell that Shannon and Nicholas are pretty wealthy people judging by their house.
We all sat at the dinning table, we all laughed and talked while we ate our dinner, it was suprising how no one treated me differently I thought that since Nicholas and Shannon adopted me the others would treat me differently, instead they just treated me like they knew they're whole life and I loved that they treated me like this.
"Nutmeg honey it's your turn" Shannon said pouring more gravy onto  her mashed potatoes.
"Okay so my first name as you all know is Meghan, but my full name is Meghan Nicolette McVeigh, I'm 16 and I'll be turning 17 a few months from now, my best friend's name is Yasmin Jacobs she is also 16 and she has a habit of doing crazy things in public" I said with a small smile  on my face, I'm already missing her and her silly habits.
"I think I like your bestfriend" Tyrone smirked which only caused me to laugh at him "for how long have you guys been bestfriends?"
"For eleven years now since we were 5" I said with a yawn. Today was really tiring.
"Wow that's a really long time, I cant even stand ty for a day and you have been with someone for eleven years" Tony laughed and I yawned I really need to go to bed.
"Looks like someone is tired" Tony smirked. "Ohh before I forget...ummm Shannon tomorrow ty and I are going Harrison's house for a party, is it okay if Meghan came along?"
"It's not really my place to answer that question seeing as I cant just make decisions for Meghan." She said looking at me "do you want to go with them?"
I guess going to a small party with them wont hurt.
"Can yasmin come too?"
"Yeah sure no problem" tony said.
"Then it's a yes..may I please be excused? I'm really tired I think I should be heading to sleep now"
"Of course you may, Tony please show her to her room  please "
I began walking to my room with tony leading the way, I'm really starting to like her I think her and I are going to get along just fine, we raced each other up the stairs till we reached a long hallway with many doors, I think it's going to take some time for me to get used to this house it is alot bigger than the children's home.
"Okay I know you're really tired, so I can show around the house tomorrow morning, that okay with you?"
"Yeah it is"
We walked down the hall and entered what I think is my bedroom.
"Holy shit! This room is amazing!" I exclaimed shock to see that this was my room.
In all my life I never thought or dreamt of having a room as big and beautiful as this one.
I stepped into the room which was painted in a light shade of pink and white, it had king sized bed on the left and a bunk bed on the right side of the bed and a cute white little dresser in between. It had an ensuite bathroom, a study desk, a closet,a window seat and little balcony showing of the back yard, damn this room was a dream come true.
"Earth Meghan?" Tony shouted snapping her fingers in my face.
I got so caught up in admiring this room that I completely forgot about Tony.
"Sorry..I was admiring this room, it's so beautiful I can't believe it's my room." I smiled at her.
"Well believe it or not, it's your room" she laughed "I'll leave you to ready for bed, Goodnight Meghan"
"Goodnight Tony" I waved.
I got to the bathroom and found my toiletry bag looks, I pulled out my toothbrush and brushed my teeth before brushing my hair and braiding it for me not  to have trouble doing it tomorrow morning.
I walk around my room for a bit after changing into my pj's.
"So this is my new home huh?"
"Yes it is doll face" I quickly turn around to see who it is only to find Nicholas standing in my room with a gift in his hands. "Ohh I'm sorry doll face, did I scare you?"
"Yeah kind of"
"Ohh I just wanted to give you this he said handing me a little box.
I opened the box to a gold chain with my name in the center.
"Thank you very much" I said as took the chain out of the box.
"Your welcome Nicolette, goodnight doll face" he said turning around to leave my room
"Goodnight Nicholas"
I place the little box on my dresser and took out my sleeping pills from my bathroom cabinet, I took them and plug in my headphones before letting myself relax in my bunk bed.
I guess this was it the place that I'd call home.
