Shannon moved around a lot, her father was a scientist he loved animals and for shannon's 5 years of life she had been from place to place, mostly tropical countries where her father would do research but now as soon she was set to begin school her father had taken her and her mother to his home country of England, it would be Shannon's first time in the place her father came from, they had mostly been to her mother's home in Colombia the Bayona family was quite welcoming every time they visited and laughed at her father's rough spanish.
Shannon had her mother's hazel eyes that went from green to yellow to brown all the time, Shannon liked to think she had magic eyes, she also had long red hair, probably from her father's side of the family, that is why they gave her the middlename Ragna, the name of a redheaded countess during the middle ages.
As they came down of the plane Shannon felt a wave of cold wash over her.
"Dad is England always this frio" Shannon asked.
"yes, usually yes specially now that is autumn" Her father answered.
"Autumn? what is that?" Shannon asked curious about the new word.
"It's a season my little rañi, here in england they happen all the time ina couple of months you'll see snow falling" said her mother
"But I already saw snow when we went with dad to the nevado" Shannon said.
"yes but this snow falls from the sky I remember the first time I saw it, I was doing a year in Japan for university, it was like watching magic powder come down the sky " Her mom said.
"It's just frozen water Ana" Her father said.
"I know you are a scientist and all but let's try to keep Shannon's ilusions of her chilhoood" Her mother said.
As they were driven to their knew home in a town called Little Whining, the name certainly scared Shannon, it seemed like someone had lived a bad life there. Her mood got better once she saw the house they would live in.
Her toom was in the secnd floor and the window showed the street infront of it, another smaller window showed the house next door, she heard screams coming from that house, she couldn't make out what they were saying, she only could manage to hear a name, Harry, who is that and why were their neighbors mad at him. Shannon's natural curiosity was peaked.
A few minutes later the door rang, Shannon went downstairs to see his dad had opened the door to a family of three or four there seemed to be someone on the back that she couldn't see quite right. A massive man with brown hair who didn't seem to have a neck, a tall thin bonde woman with an unsually long neck, and a boy with his mother's blonde hair and fat like the father.
"You must be our new neighbors, I am Petunia Dursley, this is my husband Vernon and our son Dudley" The woman said.
"Is there is someone else with you?"Shannon said.
Petunia turned around revealing a little boy with messy brown hair green eyes and glasses.
"This... this is Harry Potter our nephew, he lives with us after his parents died in a car accident when he was just one year old" Petunia said smiling too much for Shannon's liking, and they were screaming at him before they went to ring the door, suddenly Shannon felt scared.
"Poor little boy" said her mother coming in, "Shannon can you talk to the children, after all you'll be going to school with them next year" Her other said.
"Excuse me I didn't get your name" Petunia said.
"Oh sorry how rude of me, I am Ana Maria Garcia and this is my husband Henry Combe" Shannon's mother said.
"You're not from around here?" Petunia said.
"No, well my husband is, he grew up in a little village in the south, I am from Colombia, I am a language teacher and my husband is a zoologist, he will work in the museum, by the way nice name, Petunia, did you know the name came from a south American language, brought into Spanish, and then into English, it's a pretty flower" Shannon's mom said.
"I did not" Petunia said with a condescending tone.
Shannon guided the two boys around what she knew of the house.
"Do you like it here?" Dudley asked.
" It's a bigger house but it's really cold" Shannon said.
"Cold? is just normal fall weather" Dudley said.
"Not for me, where we were before we moved here, there isn't really fall or any season" Shannon said.
"that must be nice" Harry said.
"Why don't you tell your parents to light up the fire place?" Dudley said.
"They are busy unpacking and my abuela got me this ruana" Shannon said picking up a lare piece of virgin wool cloak.
"Ok freak, you are almost as weird as Harry" Dudley said.
Suddenly a crack was heard on the other room the fire place had turned on out of nowhere.
"Dad did you set up the fire place?" Shannon called
"no, my dear i put some logs in but I was going to let them dry, maybe they were covered in alcohol instead of water, but I swear it smelled like water" Her father said.
"but then how?" Shannon said.
"Sometimes it happens, a little spark of heat causing spontaneous combustion" Her father said always talking like a scientist.
"Eh it's time to go back home kids and we're going to have a serious talk with you Harry" Mr Dursley said with a weird tone in his voice.
"But what did I do?" Harry asked.
But instead of answering they just picked him by the ear and dragged him away, what a estrange way to treat a kid.
