The vanishing child

It was halloween and while Shannon preffered to stay inside as she couldn't possibly ask for sweets with that much cold in the air, but her parents insisted that it was a way for her to meet other kids as they didn't really like the Dursleys or their children. Shannon's mom was taking her, her mom was dressed as a black cat and Shannon was dressed as a jaguar.

On the next side the Dursley's also came out, Dudley with an elaborate robot costume, while Harry was wearing a plastic bag. They waved to the Combes as they turned towards Magnolia Crescent, as they turned they saw another family, they were dressed as ducks, ducks were her favourite animal, she liked cats too, and the costume was warmer, but next year she woulde be dressed as a duck.

"Nice duck costumes" Shannon said nervously.

"Thank you, I'm alfred by the way, but please call me alfie" one of the kids of the family said.

"I am Shannon" Shannon said.

"would you like to go for sweets with us? where do you live?" Alfie asked.

"Number 5 Privet Drive" Shannon answered.

"Next to the Dursleys?" Alfie asked.

"You know them?" Shannon asked.

"Well Dudley is the scariest kid in the neighborhood, he and his friend Piers, pursue his cousin arround the neighborhood since I remember and if anyone tries to help he pursues them too" Alfie said.

"Wow, I mean, he was a little rude but I didn't think that it would be that far" Shannon said.

"Oh it is" Alfred said.

"Well I saw them as I left the house and nothing seemed to be wrong, except Harry was wearing a plastic bag for a costume, it must be freezing with that thing on" Shannon said.

"Well let's go see if we can get some chocolate bars" Alfred said.

"Good idea Alfie" Shannon said.

So they went house to house, collecting sweets, Shannon had alrady forgotten about her strange neighbors and just had fun, she didn't even mind the freezing cold of the night.

Returning home after getting a bag full of sweets, Shannon said goodbye to Alfie as she turned back to Privet drive, she then saw one black blob runing after another, a closer look revealed it was Harry Potter being chased by Dudley, just like Alfie had said. Out of curiosity she decided to follow them, they were running in circles across the street, Shannon thought it was a fun game but she kept hearing Dudley shouting bad things at Harry, Shannon decided to hide behind her houses fence.

After a while Harry had hidden behind a column he was out of breath, Shannon could see, she would have to talk to him. But what if Dudley saw her? She kept looking trough the hole as Harry vanished in mid air. It took Shannon a moment to process what had happened, it didn't make sense people couldn't just disappear like that could they? Shannon wanted to keep looking but at the same time she was too scared to see more weird stuff, she decided to run back home to find her parents waiting at the door for her.

"Ragni how was your night, did you enjoy spending time with your new friend?" Her mom asked.

"Y...yes mom" Shannon answered. She was absolutely pale.

"Are you ok? did you see a ghost or something" Her mom asked.

"Maybe, I know dad won't believe me but I know what I saw, Harry the kid next door the one with glasses and that weird scar, I saw him dissapear mid air" Shannon said scared, her mother was more understanding when Shannon talked about fantasy stories and things that didn't fit into her father's scientific look on the world.

"Look dear you know I like to think of a more fantastical view of the world but seeing our neighbor dissapear is little bit much don't you think, maybe you didn't like Alfie and you are trying to compensate for that or maybe you shouldn't have gone outside with that much cold and started hallucinating.

Shannon was surprised to see her mom didn't believe her, and Shannon would have believed her mother instead it was too cold and she was just seeing things, but as she got to school more weird things happened arround Harry Potter. She saw things move to different places without any explanation of how they got there, during sports classes she could see some times move arround him, not to mention that one time he appeared at the cieling out of nowhere not remembering how he got there.

Harry Potter was quite a mystery and Shannon Ragna Combe Bayona was going to solve it.
