Icy wind bit at my face. My eyes stung from the wind and they were watering. My vision was cloudy and my mind was foggy. Some may say I am blind. I say I have never seen clearer. Wind ripped at my clothing but my will held it at bay. All of the mental breakdowns all the heartbreaks. This proves my pain was worth it. I could do whatever I pleased, go wherever I wanted. My heart beat through my chest. I could feel my pulse humming in the air. Blood roared in my ears. To think I was about to die only excited me more. The pavement was four-hundred feet and counting. I took a chilling breath. Waiting for the right moment. I've always been told I was different. I guess people never realized how right they were.

Now. My wings caught the powerful updraft. In the saddest aspect I was sad I couldn't disappear, but now I couldn't disappear. I would forever be known. Known as the boy who took the jump and lived. Known as the boy who overcame. Known as the boy who sprouted wings and flew away.
