The path we walk (nishinoya x reader)

The silent day

You just ran past them, leaving the two behind. Not even once looking back, you ran all the way back home.

MEANWHILE, BACK TO THE OTHER TWO

The two guys stand there, watching you leave. After a few seconds of silence, Nishinoya turned to look at Oikawa and growled, "What did you do to her?"

"Nothing~ She just went off suddenly when you came," he replied as a matter of fact.

Nishinoya continue glaring at the taller guy before walking away. "Don't you dare touch her.."

Oikawa just stand there and watch Nishinoya walked away. He smile to himself as he starts walking back too. "Don't touch her he say? Who cares about what he say~?"

THE NEXT DAY...

You walked in the class, only to see everyone whispering among themself. Some of them were looking at a certain table. You were surprised to see Nishinoya sitting there, arriving before you.

But, that is not all. He was sitting there, not saying a single thing. He looked up and saw you enter. Both of you just looked at each other in the eye for a moment. Not even greeting you with his normal 'good morning', he just look back outside of the window.

Ok... That, have gain your suspicions. You walked towards your table, going back to your usual self. You didn't give a slightest hint of sadness.

The lesson start and the class was awfully quiet. Even the teachers were surprised to see Nishinoya listening to the lesson attentively.

When its already after school, Nishinoya was normally the first one to get up but today, he just slowly keep his things inside his bag. He didn't even take a short peek at you for the whole day.

You sighed and left the class. You walked along the corridor, looking downwards. You were deep in thought about the incident yesterday. You mumbled to yourself quietly. You turn to a corner and unfortunately, hit someone.

"Oryaa!! You blind or something?! Watch where y....." the person started shouting at you at first but then slowly trailed off. "(L-Last name) Chan?"

You looked up and saw Tanaka standing there looking around you. You looked back to the floor before excusing yourself. "Sorry I need to go now..."

You walked briskly and eventually start running. "(Last name) Chan!!! He told me everything y'know!!"

You stop immediately and turned to look at him, eyes wide apart. You walked back towards Tanaka and hold onto his shirt tightly. "What did he say? Does he hate me now?" You mumbled, your voice somewhat trembling.

Tanaka looks at you. He can feel your hand trembling and panic slightly. He didn't know what to do. He looked around the both of you and saw many of their schoolmates looking at you two. Tanaka immediately gave them a really nasty glare. With that, they all hurriedly walked away.

Tanaka then looked back at you and awkwardly placed his hand on your shoulder gently, as if you are some fragile item. "Don't worry. Noya san will never hate you. I can't tell you much but he is just lost in thought.."

Still not looking at Tanaka, you slowly release your grip. You stay silent, not uttering a single word.

Tanaka sigh and turn around, about to leave.. He took a short glance. "I don't really know what Noya san meant in exact detail. But one thing for sure, he would really appreciate it if you came to see our practice today too!!"

He disappear out of your sight with that final statement. But you didn't realized that tears are starting to roll down your cheeks. After a minute or so, you were already bawling your eyes out, crouching.

People were once again, staring at you when they walked pass you. But you didn't care. Even if you are not sure why you are crying, you just ignores the stares you receive.

After so long, you finally stood up and began to walk sluggishly. Your mind were blank. Not a single thing was in there. Not even the destination you are heading to.

The next moment, you found yourself standing directly infront of the gym. As usual, the shouts, squeaks, and many more things were heard. You stood there, frozen.

What am I doing here? I should really go... Your thoughts were cut off by the sound of a familiar captain-like voice. "What are you doing? Can you just stay focus?!"

You walk nearer to hear what was going on. "Nishinoya? Are you sure you want to remain being bothered by whatever just happen yesterday?" Suga Senpai spoke in his usual gentle tone.

You bit your lips and opened the door slightly to see what was going on. You looked inside the gym, feeling very shock. Right at that moment, you saw Tanaka slapping Nishinoya really hard. Silence filled the air. Nishinoya didn't say anything. All he just did was stare at the ground.

Tanaka walked pass him and mumble, "this is not the Nishinoya I knew.."

You witness the whole incident silently. You were about to run off once again. You turned around and ended up tripping over your own feet.

-THUMP- (PS: don't really know the exact sound effect xD )

"Ouch~ It hurts..." You muttered to yourself.

You heard the door open. Standing there was the captain. You looked at him for a second and immediately look away, thinking of an excuse. "Er.. I..."

"I don't know what you were about to say but I really hope you will watch our practice even if it is for one minute." The captain looked at you with a serious expression.

You couldn't say no to that and sigh. You gave him a slight nod with a small smile form. You tried to stand up and realise that you had sprain your ankle.

"What are you doing there at the entrance?" Hinata pop out behind the captain. He looked at you, looked back in the gym and looked back at you. He whispered to you. "What happen to Nishinoya Senpai?"

You just stayed silent. The captain walked in the gym, dragging Hinata along. "Why don't you just come in?"

You tried to stand up and realized that you had sprained your ankle. You force yourself up, trying to resist the pain. You dragged your feet and followed the two behind.

When you enter the gym, you spot Nishinoya straight away. He was sitting at a corner with a towel around his neck. Nishinoya looked at you, eyes widen apart.

Noticing his reaction, you immediately look at the ground. You start to feel uneasy as Nishinoya just watch your every  movement.

You unconsciously walked towards a ball and hold it up. Everyone there was confuse on your action. But still, you ignored them and started smacking the ball across the court, towards Nishinoya.

Nishinoya immediately get up as he get to his defense position due to his instinct. The ball hit his arms and when flying. "What was that all about?!"

"Hmph.. That is for ignoring me the whole day!!" You fold your arms and looked at the floor, hiding a tint of blush with your fringe. "But you finally talk to me so that's great.." you add on, mumbling to yourself.

"Thats cool!! Can you do it again (last name) San?" Hinata look at you with sparkles in the eyes.

"Aren't you a libero?" Asahi Senpai looks at you in confusion.

"No I won't do it again and yes I am a libero. But I can play any position," You answered nonchalantly, still not looking at anyone.

Nishinoya began mumbling something silently.

Sorry for late update as I have reasons and i'm not gonna lie ^^

1)writer block..I'm serious!! >< Like I don't even know how I should continue.

2) common test (a test week) next week. I literally tried ti study but can't seem to concentrate… Lemme tell you.. I'm dumb so good luck to me I guess? XD

3) reading other fanfics hehe~
