Finally the clock came to the point 2 A.M. It seemed a decade before it did, but there it was. No signs of people out in the halls, no clicking keyboards to be heard. All was silent.
Slowly, I pulled my weapon from it's place. It took a while since the metal weapon made a sound against wood. I was not going to be able to do this fast, I couldn't bring my eyes to meet Marisa's before she was killed.
Marisa lay cuddling the bear toy between her arms. She had the slightest smile as I raised my weapon, for she must be having a good dream. Now she may dream this for eternity. That must be the best way to die. To be in sleep. So without waiting longer, I found myself surprised at how the skin of neck gave out to the weapon.
I remembered something she didn't expect.
How strange... To see a young girl murder another. It was the people in lab coats, long ago. She will grow up knowing blood. Unlike most who will grow up cuddling teddy bears.
Someone else's voice
How can you do that to a CHILD.
180 was too busy playing with a dead cricket to listen to the rest. They spoke hushed, anyway.Marisa's eyes opened for the slightest second before she went to eternal sleep. I had gone all through her neck to kill her as fast as possible, not wanting to prolong this death.
I shook and shivered as blood seeped through the slice in my friend's neck. It wasn't how I expected to be. I would never feel like a hero; I felt exactly as I was.
A murderer.
