Pita arrived at the airport and sat fiddling with her car keys. Her nerves were through the roof! She was so prepared last night when she was laying out everything so why all of a sudden was she a panicking mess? She walked over the cafe and got herself some hot chocolate to keep her warm and help her relax. She took out her phone and started making notes for a design she had to do for a client. The airport was pretty busy which wasn't surprising considering the time of year so people kept passing close to her as she kept her head down engrossing herself in her work.
"Talking to anyone I know?" A familiar voice that simultaneously made her jump yet soothed her soul said. She slowly looked up taking in every single second of this moment. From his Tims, to his black jeans, up to his trench coat, then finally...his face. She noticed the gold watch on his left hand was the sole piece of jewelry on that hand. She had a cool classy greeting planned in her head but she couldn't think of it.
Him...Here. ..Now.
She got up and threw her arms around him as though reunited with a long lost lover. "Whoa! Who knew you could knock a grown man down?" His mood was light and playful so he teased her about her passionate embrace but she didn't even care. Her heart was doing somersaults. How is it possible that he looks even more handsome in person? And what's that smell? She caught the scent of his cologne. Her favorite. Paco Rabanne's One Million. She could've ravaged him on site with the way she was feeling right now. Usually she was the talkative one and he chimed in with comments or arguments on the subject but today she couldn't find words; she just listened to him talk about his flight and his mom's cooking when he got home. "You're usually so talkative on the phone; where's your head at?" He asked while nudging her. "Oh I'm just...it's almost 4am so I'm tired haha..." she lied, he was so casual about their meeting while she was internally falling over herself so she didn't want to come on too strong so soon. "Oh yeah you worked today and now you're here for me, thank you so much! I owe you one for this." He told her with a warm smile. "Honestly it was my pleasure, I'm elated to meet you in person, though it feels like I've known you forever!" She tried to change to mood of the conversation and make it more serious as she tried to get the atmosphere a little more intimate between them. "Yeah i know what you mean, we've been friends for so long and talk every day. You know we have to get dinner and get together a couple times while I'm here." He told her. She smiled and nodded. Just then, a yawn escaped her mouth and her eyes started to water. Maybe all of the excitement, the appointments and her daily routine finally caught up with her leading to how tired she was; plus it was 4am. Shia noticed the yawn and asked her "hey you look really tired, I could check into a hotel for the night...but then again I don't really want you driving in this state. Should I crash at your place and you can take me home in the morning when you're well rested?" Shia genuinely looked concerned as he spoke to Pita. "Ummm sure, if you're okay with it." She told him. "Yeah of course! I'll just send my mom a message so she knows I'm here."
Shia offered to drive but Pita insisted and told him to keep talking and that'll keep her up. As they drove home he spoke about home much he missed being home with all his friends and family. He lamented on how close his family was and how different everything is now since he left to get married. "Why don't you guys move here then?" Pita asked. "She would never leave her family or her career behind and come here. We've talked about this many times" He spoke with a grim look on face. It was easy to see that this is where he wanted to be. As he looked outside his eyes lit up as he pointed out spots where he had a childhood experience or a favorite food spot that he recommended to Pita.
As they pulled into the driveway, the car got silent. The air had a heaviness to it as they both realized that they would finally be alone for the first time in their lives.
As she turned off the engine Shia held her hand and looked at her "listen, I know we have fun over the phone, but I'm not here to have sex with you. Over the phone is one thing, it isn't really real, but I don't wanna interfere with my marriage for real. We understand that right? We're just friends ?" Shia had a sheepish look on his face as he spoke. Usually Pita was agreeable and casual when she spoke to him but she was not about to let this opportunity slip away. She was certain this had to be a test. She smirked as she pulled her hands away and opened her car door. "You came here to be my friend Shia? Sure. Whatever you say." She got out of the car and unlocked the front door. Shia had a confused look on face as he followed her inside. He sat on the couch looking as though he was still confused by Pita's response. As he took off his shoes and jacket he finally spoke up and started to say "Pita, I'm not really sure what you-"
As he turned his head around to her bedroom doorway he saw her. Six inch heels, black lace garter on her thigh, her rose gold lace lingerie that she picked out 3 days ago. Hair untied so it flowed all the way down her back, just like he liked it, and that look on her face. It was unmistakable. The intensity that she stared at him with made him breathe heavy as he took it all in from head to toe. He started walking towards her. As he got close enough to breathe in the scent of her Sweat Pea body cream, he started to whisper "Pita...I can't..." "shhh..." she cut him off."Lemme show you how I take care of my friends"
