The Pendant (Part-8)

Jo and Tony reached Jack's house. Jack's mother opened the door. Tony asked where is the store room. Jessica asked" why?? What had happened??" .

Tony said that he will say her everything latter.

She said them to come along with her. Then she opened the door of the room. The store room was locked for many years. Jessica switched on the lights of the room. Everything present there is covered with dust. Jessica again asked them what had happened. But they didn't reply. Tony just said her to wait and watch. The sofa is covered with a plastic. As Tony took it off Jo started coughing badly. Jessica ran and bring him a glass of water. After drinking water Jo felt better. And he said that he is suffering from asthma that's why. Tony said him to stay there and Tony covered his nose with a handkerchief and searched for the money and found the black money inside the sofa cushion.

Jessica got shocked by seeing all those black money. And asked" what??what are these all in my store room..oh god."

Jo said Jessica everything about what had happened. Jessica cried and said " I had never thought that John is so bad. I knew it before that he is not as much good as my Jack but I couldn't even think of John doing such a bad job."

Jo is very loyal and he haven't said her anything about Jack as he had promised John that he will not say anything about his brother to his mum. Tony couldn't tolerate that as he hates lie and tried to tell the truth of Jack to Jessica but Jo stopped him before Tony could say that.

Jessica doubted and asked " John..?? Is it John then..he had murdered my Jack?? If he did so then... then I will just kill him..he don't know me.".

"No I don't think so..I think there is someone else". Jo really felt very disappointed as couldn't getting any way to disentangle the knots of the case. Day by day it's getting more entangled.

" Ok..now we want to search all the rooms." Tony said.

" Ok.. come with me."

They go to Jessica's room at first. Jo stood in front of the door and Tony starts searching the room.

Jo stood there and seeing a photo in  their room. The family photo. They all are in the sea beach and posing. Everybody is smiling. The two brothers  Jack and John are very small at that time. They all are wearing sunglasses. Jo was seeing the picture and got lost in it. Then Tony came and  said that he haven't got anything doubtful from there.

Then they went to John's room. They checked all the drawers, his business files and everything. Then from the cupboard Jo took out a photo album. He was very eager to see that album may be he couldn't take his mind out of that photograph. As he is an orphan and brought up in an orphanage so when it comes to any family matters then he really feel an emotional attachment with it. He opened it and saw the pictures. Then he saw a picture of a man with prosthetic eyes. He asked Jessica " who is he??".

She smiled a bit with tears in her eyes and said " Jack and John's father and my husband, Thomas. Due to an infection he had lost his eye."

" Oh..I..I am really very sorry".

Tony also saw the photos.

Then they decided to go to Jack's room and search it.

Jo said that it's just a waste of time searching his room again because that day he had searched the room properly.

But Tony continued his searching. He checked everything in Jack's room. Then he saw a picture of beautiful flowers in his room. He took off the photo from the wall and shouted " Sir..come here..see". Jo turned around and ran towards Tony. They saw that there is a secret locker behind the photo. Tony opened it and got a pendant from their, a broken pendant. It's broken sidewise from top to bottom. Tony ran and show it to Jessica and asked whether she knew anything about it or not.

She tried to remember and then see said " I don't know.. I think it's not mine and I think it's not among someone who belongs to our family. I haven't seen it before..I can't remember it."

Jo then thought that John may know something about  whose it is because he had said Jo that he was very close to his brother, Jack used to share him everything and may be Jack had shared anything about it to him.

So both of them again left for the police station.

Jo showed John the pendent and asked " have you seen this pendant before?".

" No..I just can't remember it. But I think I had seen it before.".

" Try to remember..just try."

" Ya..I had seen it. I had seen it Jack's room once. May be three or four years ago I had saw it. That day Jack looked very upset and sad. He was sitting on his bed with this pendant in his hand. I had asked him whose it is. So he said that it's one of his school friends. A pretty girl with big eyes, short hair always used to look at Jack  in goo goo eyes which he was missing badly at that time. I think she was not just only his friend but something more than that. I don't know but I think so. It's her pendant. And Jack told that, that only sign of her left with him and he will keep it properly with him and will never lose it. And then he kissed the pendant and started crying. I don't know anything more than this."

" Ok."

Then they went away from there.

Jo decided to go to Raseil's house and tell her everything about it as Raseil is  in sick leave so she is not coming to the police station for two days.

Jo reached to Raseil's house and rang the bell. Raseil opened the door and asked Jo to have a sit. Then Raseil asked what had happened but before giving reply he suddenly got up and ran away from there to Tony.
