Based on a rp with mah jellyfish frein- Dey awesome and this made my heart melt for the poor baby-  

Little:Janus. He's 1. "Cookie"

Caregiver: Roman "roro"(sometimes Da if Janus is comfortable)

It was 4 am and Janus was curled into a ball.

Normally?he would be in the room roman had set up.

But today he was starting his dreaded shedding season(which in all honesty was only a week long)and still suffering the consequences of him and Logan drinking 17 bottles of alcohol (all together) so with his scales being itchy,hot,and rubbing against his clothes,he was not happy.

Roman soon woke up to janus' soft whimpers of pain and after hearing his caregiver wake up,Janus was in his arms,softly crying and rubbing at his scales.

"Hey,cookie whyre you crying..?"

Janus jsut shook his head. Talking hurt too much right now.

"Wanna see emile?" Roman asked in a soft voice,handing Zuzu,his stuffed bunny,to Janus. Dee nodded,holding Zuzu close and holding onto Roman as they went to emiles office,neither one of them questioning why he was awake at 4 am.

"Oh,hey guys." Emile said. He was a little less hyper,but that was because it was four in the morning.

"Hey emile.Somethings  up With Jan." Roman said,sitting down on the couch while Janus situated himself and Emile sat in his chair.

The next few minutes were emile asking Janus questions which to be honest,he wasn't. He didn't know why,but he was unintentionally lying. For example, Emile clicked his pen a few times and wrote something down.

"Do you know why you woke up so early?"

"Uhm...probably 'was' really 'comfortable'..." which if he was telling the truth,would mean "probably wasn't really comfortable." 

Soon enough,Roman and Janus went back to romans' room,Janus rubbing his eyes.

"you tired,cookie?"

Janus put his head down " Uhm.. 'yes'.."

"well i assumed since you keep rubbing your eyes"

"Just 'dont' feel itchy..."

"well we can try taking a bath"

Janus whined a bit and shook his head. He knew taking one would help,but he didn't think roman knew he was shedding. Nevertheless,roman went to the bathroom and sat janus down while  he filled up the bath.

But Janus was a clingy baby today,And reached up to him 

"roro...!"

roman picked him back up "how old are you?"

So Janus paused "one n half.."

"ok you'll need help, are you ok to take clothes off by yourself?"

Janus just frowned,holding onto him "no wanna...scales hurt.."

"well taking a bath will make it better"

Janus rubbed his cheek,shaking his head "don't wanna..! 'Dont' wanna cuddle..!"

"we can cuddle after, you havent taken a bath recently so this is good for you."

Janus whined in responce. Even though what roman said was true.

"now do you need help with clothes?" Roman asked,to which Janus hesitently nodded. roman took of janus clothes.of course,looking away from certain spots,and put him in the bath.

Janus rubbed his cheek,whining,which caught romans attention."oh i get it now. You're shedding aren't you?" roman took janus's hand down from his face as Janus nodded. "Well dont scratch it or it will bleed ok?" Roman said softly. Janus just  whined a bit "itchy..!"'i know but it will get worse if you scratch it" roman took a washcloth and gently started to rub soap on janus's scales.Janus whined as some loose ones came off,not all of them were ready yet.
roman left that alone and scrubbed the rest of him. Janus kept reaching up to itch his scales,but roman kept pulling his hand away.Janus whined a bit

 "da it hurts..."

"well wait a bit and ill help you with that"
Janus frowned a bit but nodded While roman continued to bath Janus, occasionally stopping and rubbing jan's scales.
Once done,almost all of his scales were off."good job cookie" roman said softly,taking him out of the bath and drying him off. Janus whined a bit,tearing up. "sorry," roman Said again softly,putting him in a fluffy sweater.
Janus held onto him once done"well I made a promise" roman picked janus up and went over to his bed. Janus sniffled a bit "cuddle..?""what else would it be?" roman laid on the bed with janus ontop of him.Dee held onto him and sniffled "roro it itchy...""i know,cookie.but it will go away..."roman rubbed some of the scales with his thumb,making Janus rub his cheek,flinching a bit as roman flatten the scales back down. He whined a little."da it itchy....!""it will get better if you dont touch it."Jan slightly nodded,putting his head down As roman yawned and pet jans hair."I don' like..."roman stopped petting janus "you dont like that?""Nuh..teh scales..like de pettin but teh scales hurt...""oh, it will get better tomorrow i promise..." roman continued petting him while Janus put his head back down and sniffed " m 'not' thirsty..."With that, roman snapped a sippy cup into existence and handed it to janus. He took it and started drinking while romans eyelids got heavier, but he needed to stay awake until janus fell asleep.
It didn't take long for it to slip out of janus' hands as he fell asleep,and roman smiled and sat the cup on the bedside table before falling asleep.




Janus stayed asleep until about 8pm where he sat up crying,waking roman up.romans eyes shot open "what is it cookie?"Janus was rubbing his scales,crying at the feeling of his dried over and slightly bloody scales."hey hey, let me help"Roman said in a soft voice. he got up with janus and sat him on the bathroom counter.Janus held onto him. Most of the old scales were flaking off by themselves,but a small bunch was just sticking to his skin,and him itching at it had caused it to bleed a bit.Roman sighed and got a wet cloth,trying to gently rub the rest off. Janus teared up and soon started to cry while roman was whispering apologies left and right. And he eventually he got the old ones off. Janus rubbed his eyes "Dey off..?""yes there off but i need to clean the blood"
the wound didnt take a long roman simply pated the blood off with the washcloth and put a bandaid on. Janus looked in the mirror,softly giggling at his new scales"there very pretty cookie." Roman said,smiled softly at janus' fascination with his scales.Janus slightly nodded "Dey shiny..""Yes they are. Though we should probably go back to bed, maybe we can show logan and Patton tomorrow. Okay?""M not tired tho...""well i kinda am, and i dont wanna leave you awake by yourself."Janus whined a bit and gave Roman puppy eyes,to which Roman sighed."fine,we'll stay up a bit longer."
Janus smiled a bit and they stayed up until 10 when roman just kinda... passed out while  Janus curled up beside him and fell asleep.
This was probably the best way he's gone through shedding season before.
