Shackles

I just want to write
until I can't find words.

I want to write what I want,
not what I think
you want me to.

I want to write
when there isn't a rubric
or a box.

But a story,
or none if I like.
When it's just me and words
and nothing else matters.

I want to write,
on a mountain
in the morning,
or my bed
at midnight.

With no need,
except me.
My ideas.
My thoughts.
My passion.

I don't want to satisfy your criteria.
I want to write.
