I had been away from Fred and George and everyone else for too long. How could I know if they were alright, that nothing had happened to them? I knew I had to find at least one person to stay with so I ran down the stairs towards the outside.

It was probably the stupidest idea to run outside, but I needed to find someone. When I reached the doorway I saw just how severe the battle actually was. Giant trolls were using their huge sticks to whack at people and destroy the castle. Spiders ran around on their eight legs, shoving students to the ground. Surrounding me were flashes of blue and green as spells were cast from wands on either side.

Students screamed as Death Eaters broke windows, flying inside as a black cloud of smoke. Some flew on brooms to fight from above while others were still on foot. Despite the hundreds of stone soldiers, we had conjured, there were still so many more people on the other side.

Explosions startled me every time they went off, erupting a huge cloud of smoking orange flames. I kept running with my wand gripped tightly in my hand, using spells where they were needed.

There was a Death Eater casting spells at me so I quickly rushed around a corner only to be greeted by something not so nice. In front of me was a dementor hovering in the air. I tried to back away from the gray cloaked creature but it was too late.

I had been shoved to the ground and felt the life starting to be sucked out of me.

I knew what I had to do, the Patronus charm, but it wasn't that easy. The last time I tried to do it I   had an anxiety attack. This time was different though, if I messed up I wouldn't get to see tomorrow.

I took a second to think of George and me, when we were at the lake together and he said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

I let the happiness fill me up before pointing my wand towards him and attempting to say the spell. "Expec- Expecto Patr-" I tried to say but the words barely left my lips. I still felt like all the happiness and life was pulled out of my body. I started to doubt my ability to get away and let my thoughts get sad once again.

I thought I was gone, I thought I was going to die right there. All of a sudden I heard the words Expecto Patronum called out from behind me. I watched as a blue magpie gracefully soared through the air and flew straight into the dementor, causing him to leave.

I took a minute to try and catch my breath back. I was too shocked from everything that had just happened I hadn't thought about who could have saved me.

"Lex, are you alright, " the voice asked as they knelt beside me and brushed the hair out of my face.

I looked to see a bright ginger-haired boy looking back down at me worriedly. It took a second for my eyes to adjust in the darkness but I eventually realized that it was Fred.

I weakly sat up and wrapped my arms around him lovingly. I was so glad to finally be back with someone I loved and not have to worry about whether they were all safe or not.

"Come on, we have to keep moving, " he said while placing his hands under my arms and helping me to stand up.

It took me a minute to stabilize my wobbly legs but thankfully Fred let me lean on him until I did. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back into the castle.

"What were you thinking going outside Lex, if I hadn't been there..." he trailed off.

"I was looking for you, or George, just anybody, " I explained sadly.

"Don't do anything like that ever again, I don't want to lose you, " he said sternly.

I nodded my head then stood on my toes to quickly hug him around the neck once again. We ran together through the hallways and up the staircases. Students around us were screaming and running in every direction.
