Hogwarts! Yes, you heard me... Hogwarts. I can't even begin to imagine what my time there will be like? Have you ever heard of any other magic school around the world that can harbour so much chaos and glory at the same time? I certainly haven't. Hogwarts is the renowned owner of that reputation. We used to hear so many stories and rumours about all of the curious things that happened there each year; hidden Chamber's of 'Certain Death' below the girls bathroom, playing host to the first wizard to ever break free from Azkaban, last year's Tri-Wizard Tournament and a huge forest right outside the grounds that accommodates some rather frightening and quite frankly questionable creatures we've only read about in books at BeauxBatons.
Ah that reminds me, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Whiteheart, Skye Whiteheart.
Until recently, I attended the prestigious 'BeauxBatons Academy of Magic' in France. I've been there for 4 years, it was my first magic school, though I always got the feeling my parents would've loved it if I could have joined Hogwarts in first year. My mother, Alice Whiteheart, attended Hogwarts when she was my age along with my father, Aticus Whiteheart. From what they've told me, they were practically childhood sweethearts and have been together ever since they graduated. I always did love hearing about their time at Hogwarts; being sorted into their houses, the overwhelmingly large feasts 3 times a day, the ghosts that had such thrilling stories to tell if you could spare a minute or two between classes and the Quidditch games.
Quidditch was never really a huge sport at BeauxBatons. Sure we all follow the sport in the wizarding world and its great fun if you can witness a Quidditch World Cup Final at least once in your life, but I guess it was never really high on the priority list for us. I don't actually think I can even recall the last time I watched a game, but I've been made very much aware that it is a huge deal at Hogwarts and they take it very seriously, many world leading players trained there before heading on to life long careers in the sport.
There's one thing that makes me feel slightly nervous though, something that I've thought about almost everyday since I learned I'd be transferring to Hogwarts this upcoming September. It's being sorted into my house.
My parents were in different houses to each other, my mother was in Ravenclaw and my father was in Gryffindor, but what if I'm put into a completely different house to both of them?
My parents assured me that they would be proud no matter where I'm placed, but I've heard many... concerning things about those who have been placed in Slytherin. Apparently, Slytherin has raised some of the world's most dangerous and darkest wizards of all time, including; You Know Who, as if that isn't suspicious. It's said that to be put into Slytherin by the sorting hat, you need to be cunning and deceitful with a black, cold heart, (I'm pretty sure not all of that is true but it's the general idea). I do know for sure though that their common room is somewhere down in the dungeons of the castle, now that would freak me out, I don't think I'd get a peaceful night sleep knowing people were probably tortured in my dorm. Nevertheless, my parents know that Slytherin is one of the 4 options and I can't be expected to be put in Ravenclaw or Gryffindor just because my parents were, now can I?
