Chapter 2

'Dear Freddie, Of course I will come to the world cup with you! I've already asked Remus and I should be coming my floo powder next Thursday. Who else is going? I can't believe we are going to be in our 6th year soon! Do you remember when we met? And I ran into your mum because I was a bit too excited to get to the train. Who do you thinks gonna win the cup? I'll put 10 galleons on the Irish. Can't wait to see you, Emily.' I sealed the letter and walked over to my beautiful snowy owl Callie. "Go and send this to the burrow please," I said as I tied the letter to her outstretched leg. I watched the bird fly away when I was interrupted "Emily, you're going to the burrow early." Remus spoke in a soft tone but I could tell something was wrong. "Why, what's going on." I was worried, it was very rare to see him like this. The last time I saw him acting this way was when he thought Sirus had killed Peter, James, and Lily. "I can't say but you have to leave, I will send a patronus to Molly telling her. You will be leaving tomorrow morning." I stopped questioning it because I knew I wasn't going to find anything out. I began packing all of my stuff when I realized something. "Remus! I have to ty here," I knew he was going to try and deny me but I had a reason, "Remus by birthday is in two days! Surely you will let me spend it here." I heard footsteps coming up the stairs when Remus appeared in my doorway. "I'm sorry Emily but you have to go, I will try and see you but I will give my present for you to molly just in case." I didn't say anything and just went back t packing my stuff. By the time I had finished, it was night so I put on my pajamas and went to bed.

I pulled myself out of bed and put on the clothes that I had left out the night before, a pair of jeans and a maroon sweater which I tucked in at the front. I grabbed my trunk and walked out of my room and into the kitchen where there was a plate of toast with butter and jam. I sat down in the nearest chair and began putting some jam on my toast when Remus walked in. "Are you ready to go?" I nodded and walked over to the fireplace, we both stepped inside and soon we were standing in the burrows living room. "Ginny dear could you please go and see whos here." I saw Ginny step out of the kitchen and her eyes lit up. "EMILY!" I was engulfed in a hug before I could even utter a word. "Emily, Remus how wonderful it is to see you dears." Molly walked over and gave both of us a slightly less bone-crushing hug than usual. I said a quick good-bye to Remus and followed Ginny up the stairs to her room, which is where I usually stay. I put my trunk down and sat on the mattress that had been laid out for me. Ginny and I started talking when all of a sudden I heard the door swing open and was taken into another, even more bone-crushing hug by both Fred and George. "Well it's nice to see you too," I managed to say before I was dragged out of the room by Fred with George leading the way. "You don't understand how boring it has been without you Emily, Fred was driving me mad with all the things he was saying about you." I looked at Fred and saw a slight blush on his cheeks but he quickly brushed it off. We soon made it into the twins' room. The walls were covered in brightly coloured stains which were most likely from pranks or experiments that had gone wrong. On either side of the room, there was a bed with orange bedding for Fred and purple for George. I sat on Fred's bed and we began to talk about Weasleys Wizard Wheezes and the World Cup, "You know Emily, I'm really happy you're here an all but I didn't think you were coming till Thursday." Both George and Fred looked at me with a questioning look. "Well, I thought I was coming Thursday too but last night I was told that I was coming today. And even though my birthday is in two days I still had to come early." When I mentioned my birthday both of the boys eyes lit up. Before I could ask what was going on they rushed downstairs. "Mum!" They yelled out in unison, "It's Emily's birthday in two days!" Oh no, was the last thing I thought before I rushed downstairs next to the red-haired twins. "Oh my goodness, Emily why didn't you tell me sooner! I have to make a cake, and I'll head down to Diagon Alley to do some last-minute shopping-" "Molly, please it's fine, I don't need anything." I tried to convince her not to do anything but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Soon we had dinner and I went back upstairs and went to bed nearly immediately.
