Chapter 9

"Emily!" I heard Fred yell out to me but I wasn't stopping I continued walking through the halls and I went to the one place I knew would be empty. I walked up the stairs into the astronomy tower. I put my bag down and leaned on the rails, looking out onto the black lake. I tried not to think about it but I could only think of what had happened at the world cup. I kept thinking for what felt like hours until I heard someone come and stand next to me. I looked over and saw my favorite red-haired twin. We sat in silence until tears started rolling down my cheeks. I felt him look at me and before I knew it I was in his arms. I could feel my tears soaking his shirt but I didn't care. That's when I realized something. I love Fred Weasley. We pulled apart and I leaned my head on his chest, "I'm sorry," He looked down at me, "what are you sorry about?" I heard the sincerity in his voice, "For making you come out here and miss class and being a pain." As I said this he grabbed my face and brought it to his level so I" was looking him in the eyes, those beautiful brown eyes. "Emily Brown, you are the opposite of a pain. I wanted to come out here and check on you because I love you okay. And I hate seeing you so upset." After he said that I did something I never thought I would. I kissed him. And he kissed me back, when we finally pulled away we leaned our foreheads together. "I love you too okay," I whispered to him. We quickly left after we heard voices coming from the stairs.

We entered the Great Hall as  Fred met back up with George so they could put their names in the goblet. They ran through the hall telling everyone their plan. They took the potion and just before they jumped in he sent me a wink. I held my breath secretly praying that it would go horribly wrong and they wouldn't be able to enter. They had gotten past the age lien, I had heard Hermione trying to tell them it wouldn't work but maybe she was wrong. Suddenly, there was a loud bang. I looked over and saw both of the twins on the ground with long white beards. "You said" 

"No, you said" Then they started fighting and rolling over each other. I looked at the twins' friend Lee, "Should we stop them?" he looked back at me, "I'll grab George you get Fred." I smiled as we walked over and grabbed the twins. I was doubled over in laughter as we went to the hospital wing. I could tell other people had tried it but had also failed. Madam Pomfrey quickly fixed them so we went to go and see whose names were going to come out of the cup.

We walked in just as Dumbledore was about to begin talking, "I believe the goblet is ready to make its decision." Soon enough the flames inside went red and a paper flew out of it, "The champion for Durmstang is... Viktor Krum!" The school clapped and a couple of girls started screaming as he left to a door which the champions were to go into. The flames went red again, "The champion for Beaxbatons is... Fleur Delacour!" The school clapped but there were considerably less cheers for this girl. "Finally, the champion for Hogwarts is... Cedric Diggory!" The school erupted into cheers mostly coming from the Hufflepuff table. "Now that we have our 3 champions we must-" The flames went red again, "Harry Potter... Harry Potter!" Harry slowly rose out of his seat and walked over. Both of the twins looked in envy of the boy. I felt bad for the poor thing.

"How'd you do it, Harry?" The twins began to question Harry on how his name was in the cup. "I didn't do it!" I believed Harry but no one else did. I managed to distract everyone so he could leave but I realized Ron didn't follow him. "Ron what's going on with you and Harry" He proceeded to tell me that Harry was lying to him and was lying about everything. I began to defend him but was dragged away by a determined Fred who wanted to go to the kitchens and refused to go alone.
