A/N: first: ty for the people who read my other parts it gives me some motivation- second: for this story i did put y/n in a dress, i know that's not everyone favorite thing but i put it based on personal preference so please no comments about it- third: there are some inaccurate things in all these stories but they are just based on how i want hogwarts to be- anyway enjoy this story!!!

it had been over 2 weeks after the me and Hermione blow up. I had ignored her for days and the pain had grown. My heart throbbed whenever I saw her and my head hurt whenever I thought of her and Viktor together. I spent most of my time reading the books Hermione had given me, staring at Hermione, or hanging out with Cho. I started to sit at the Ravenclaw tables to. which was by far worse then the other table, they didn't really get me like the Hufflepuffs did. I stopped spending time with Cedric as well. my whole world had changed all because of Ron. the other 4th years had stopped talking about me and Hermione gossip but of course people still whispered in the halls when we passed. Ron and Harry still talked to me in the halls, but only when hermione was away in the library or in a different class. My friendship with them had stayed the same and it was one of the few things keeping me happy.

it didn't seem like Hermione had the same issues as me. i never caught her staring at me, and she didn't seem to be worried about a date. Her and Ron were still freinds until around a week before the ball. there was a big blow up during study hall that I had taken to notice. when it happened I almost stood up to run after her, but cho grabbed my hand before I could get out of my seat. I had potions class next period and i was sitting next to ron again. he noticed that i was staring at 'mione again.

"hey y/n" I flashed back to reality and said "what" way to loudly- which snape was not happy about.
"theres a rumor you know- says you snogged with cho" and with that the bell rang for the end of class "snogged cho?!!? where was the bloody place you heard that from" I said
"it's around school- heard you were taking her to the ball too"
"well.. I mean we're going to the ball together but it's only been like 2 weeks-" I continued confused "i'm just going with her because neither of us have dates and I suppose Hermione has a date to the ball as well, it's not like she's going alone"
"she told us she has a date but i'm not sure I believe it" we continued to talk about it and I kept denying that me and cho ever kissed- "blimey Ron I haven't even kissed Hermione before" I dashed away as we got to a split hallway and swiftly went down the stairs to my dorm. I was quite lonely in my own common room, with Cedric being awkward and Hannah not really talking to me, I was always alone reading the books that my love had given to me.

"come on y/n!! we have to go dress shopping sometime- it's not like your going in your school robes" ginny grabbed my hand from the bench I was reading in. she dragged me up and I stumbled while I followed her. "finnnne let me get some money first." we met up with a group of other girls that needed to go get dresses and a couple of boys who needed suits. Mcgonagoll led the group into hogsmede and went over the basic rules as usual, I checked my pockets again for the large sum of galleons my mom had given to be.

when we go to the dress shop I was overwhelmed with the ball gowns and sparkles. ginny immediately went to go look for a dress while i wandered the store in my thoughts, all i could think of was Hermione.. her dress would be buetiful and i bet her dates outfit was better then mine. i had already seen chos dress and knew i needed somthing that would match, i got back to ginny where she was already holding a long bag for clothes.
"did you find a dress"
"no not yet, can you help me look" ginny grabbed my wrists
"i was hoping you'd say that" she practically dragged me to the back of the store where a magical dress stood, it was long enough that it just skimmed the ground and the whole had laced in flowers that looks like they were popping out of the corset. the waist band was pink and the straps were thin and silky.

"bloody hell" i practically whispered
"well let's go!!" ginny grabbed my hand and dragged me for the 10th time today.
after checking out my pockets were rather empty- but ginny seemed to think it was worth it. with our bags in hand we headed back to mcgonagoll and she led us back to the castle. "y/n y/n y/n" Hannah leaped in front of me and dragged me up to my dorm. "well put the dress on!!!" i didn't expect this response from the anyone, i was never really popular among them. when we got to my dorm there were 10 hufflepuffs in there "come on y/n hurry up" justin knocked on the bathrooms door, "i'm coming i'm coming" i said through a giggle.

i looked into the round mirror on the wall and wiped the tear that was rolling down my cheek. taking a deep breath i opened the creaky door with a large grin on my face. "omg-" Susan bones whispered "blimey" i heard a small whisper in the back of the group. every head turned to the familiar voice.
"hi Cedric"
"that's a nice dress y/n" he said looking at
the floor
"everyone clear out- this will be awkward enough" one of his freinds announce loudly Cedric chuckled and gently pushed his friend out of the door.
"what do you want Cedric. if your just here to stare at my chest then i recommend you leave before i crack your jaw" i rolled my eyes and walked over to my four poster bed. Cedric head flashed up and started to talk again
"i- um- well- i just wanted to say i'm sorry"
"no need to be sorry ced you didn't know, is that all?"
"oh yea.. um cya y/n" when Cedric left Hannah slipped past him and into the room with a large smile on her face. she crouched down in her large robes and pulled a draw from under her bed. she waved her hand at me to make me go to her.
"yes Hannah?"
"i have the PERFECT shoes for those" Hannah reached into the draw and pulled out two crystally blue heels with small glitters in them.
"come in put them on" i stepped into the shoes and spun around in a circle to shoes Hannah the whole dress.
"we have to show the others!!! this dress is too good to be hidden from the world" Hannah tried to grab my hand but i hit it away
"if it's that good then i might as well keep it a secret" i grinned and slipped back to the bathroom to change into my robes.
