While the three fleets have banded together against Azeira's armada, Jill, Janie, Lee and Blake climbed into the fighters. They followed the other fighters and were escorting the transport shuttles down to the surface. Once the ships were launched, Freda ordered her capital ships to open fire on the armada. As the shuttles were heading towards the planet, several enemy fighters say the convoy and began their attack on the transport ships.
"Blake, we got enemy fighters coming right towards us," Janie said.
"Keep the transport ships on course, I'll deal with the fighters,"
Blake broke off from the convoy and went after the fighters. He got behind the enemy fighters and destroyed them. The convoy went straight to Neo-Earth as the rebel Neo-Earth Fleet was trying their best to beat the other ships. As the convoy got into the heart of the battlefield, an enemy Neo-Earth heavy cruiser and two Frigidarian cruisers collided with each other and exploded.
"Disperse! Get out of the way!" Blake yelled.
The convoy broke apart as debris from the two ships scattered all over the place.
"Everyone alright?"
"We're alright Blake," Janie said.
"That was too damn close, we need to be more careful," Lee added.
Blake chuckled a bit at Lee's remark; but his smirk quickly disappeared when the alarm went off. He checked the status of his ship; but didn't have to look very far; the canopy of his fighter was cracked, possibly from the debris.
"Dammit, I got a major problem here," Blake said.
"What is it?" Jill asked.
"My canopy has taken damage; the glass is starting to crack up,"
"Can you make it son?" Jill asked.
"Maybe, I don't know,"
Jill moved to see the damage for herself; the cracks were slowly but surely expanding all over.
"Blake, head back to the Temperance and replace the canopy, the cracks are spreading," Jill said.
Just as Jill had said that, the cracking spread increased dramatically. Blake could hear air escaping from the damage.
"You hear me son, get back to the ship," Jill ordered.
"Hang on mom, I got an idea,"
Blake formed an ice orb in his hand, he placed the orb in the main crack line and he froze the cracks in place, temporarily preventing the canopy from breaking.
"There, that should do it for now," Blake said.
"Okay son, now head back to the Temperance at once," Jill replied.
But before Blake could head back to the Temperance, several more enemy fighters converged onto his location and began to open fire on him. He dodged most of the fire; but the enemy fighters managed to damage his ship further. Jill went after the enemy fighters and attacked them. She shot down three of the fighters and disabled the other two. She saw her son's fighter and the damage was immense; but the ship was still flyable. The two fighters went back to the convoy and continued escorting them down to the planet. More enemy fighters converged onto the convoy and even though the F-200 starfighters excelled in stopping the enemy fighters, they lost a few transport ships. After getting through the battlefield, the transport ships were beginning their re-entry procedures to the surface. As Blake's fighter was going through, the ice that was reinforcing the cracks began to melt. He had to keep on putting new ice in the cracks to reinforce the canopy; but the heat of re-entry was making his effort seemed futile. To make matters worse, the damage his fighter received earlier from the other ships was spreading, causing system after system to fail.
