"Can I just stay here?" Hayoung asked him, leaning against the mirror.
"Yea.." Youngjo smiled but he was questioning, shouldn't they take a distance but he's not out of mirror yet.
If he stayed in the mirror, that means he get to stay with Hayoung! He sighed in defeat, it was selfish of him. She worked so hard just for him and he doesn't want to repay her like this. The only way was to follow her wishes.
"Hayoung?"
No response.
Youngjo couldn't see her face but he looked how she wasn't moving, the sound of light snores coming from her. That was quick, she was already asleep and Youngjo leaned against the mirror, sighing and looking up at the white ceiling above him.
"I'm glad I could meet you.." he started.
"I never thought you would let me stay.. I don't want to distance ourselves cause.. Ugh, this is confusing, it's weird.."
"I thought the last owner of the mirror was my last one and I will never show up but I thought 'one more time, this is truly the last one' and I'm glad I did" he chuckled.
"I never thought that I will get emotionally attached to you.. Especially considering that you already have him.." He snickered.
He looked at his wrist, the scar was healing but it won't disappear.
"I tried to prevent myself from attaching to anybody after what happened with Ain but there's something about you.. I want you to hear my music again, I want to comfort you when you're down, I want to hold your hands, I want to be there for you.."
He groaned and ruffled his hair. "I know you won't listen to any of this but I really really like you, Hayoung.. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.."
He laughed at his dumb romantic despair. "My lord.. I'm so hopeless" he muttered to himself and shook his head.
Covering his face with his palms, he couldn't imagine how red his face at the time. He went to grab his music sheets and started to continue a song he's been writing. He didn't wake her up actually, he also accidentally fell asleep behind her.
...
"First thing first, there is a way.." Joy started.
Hayoung clenched her fists, her ears were ready to listen to them intentively. She felt her heart was about jumped out, the crucial moment.
"But it needs both of your strength especially you, Hayoung. The only way for him to come out is through you."
"Please elaborate.."
"I heard you've been getting tiny electric shocks from the mirror. Well, it is a portal to the other world but he cannot do it on his own. Something must be the link in the portal, that is your part. Reach out to him but it's going to be a tad bit painful, are you sure you can do it?"
"For him? Yes. I'm used to it by now, it's kinda my massage" she laughed in embarrassment.
"That's good.. Just reach out for the mirror. Soon you'll feel your hand slowly penetrating through the mirror. That's where he has to reach for your hand, and you will pull him out! Sound simple, right." Joy smiled.
Hayoung felt a wave of confidence in her, she definitely can do it!
"But like I said, it requires alot of strength so I hope you do it when you're ready." Joy looked at her eith concern eyes.
"Yes!" Hayoung on the other hand was pumped up, her heart was beating faster than ever, a thrilling feeling.
"I guess that's settle then" Joy stood up, she followed along.
She grasped Hayoung's hands and shook it gently "You can do it."
Suddenly something came across in Hayoung's mind, she remembered the crack on the mirror.
"W-wait.. What will happen if the mirror is broken?"
"Hmm.. There's a possibility the portal will be closed forever.. I guess" She was also not sure, she never encounter an event significantly like it. "Just avoid it in all matter."
Hayoung took a deep breath, "I will."
She hugged Joy in a very happy manner, she could now go back to Youngjo and tell him everything including the part where they didn't have to distance themselves.
...
Hayoung arrived infront of her house, she just couldn't wait any longer. Even during her ride back home, she was refraining herself from jumping and screaming. She never felt this excited since university.
She was humming to a tune, ready to insert the key through the lock but what she didn't expect was that it was already unlocked.
"Huh?" She looked at knob weirdly, she turned it and her door was already opened?
She carefully entered her house, she remembered she locked the door and saw her house was still in one shape. Neither a mess nor anything was touched.
She felt a sudden cold running down her spine. She quickly moved to kitchen, something was definitely not right. It somehow doesn't felt as homey as it is.
She grabbed the chef's knife, she felt as she wasn't the only one in the house minus Youngjo. She slowly approached her bedroom.
The door was left a tiny gap, she peeked into it and saw a figure sitting on her bed but the tall figure seemed familiar.
Hayoung bursted into her room and saw him.
"Taejun?! What the hell?!" Hayoung dropped her knife immediately.
"Happy to see me Hayoung?" Taejun stood up and walked closer to her, making her took a million step behind.
"W-what is it that you want?!" Hayoung was furious but was also terrified.
"I'll give you one more chance. Come back to me." it was such a simple proposal.
"Never." Hayoung was regretting that she accidentally dropped the knife.
Taejun laughed as he found the act was amusing. Hayoung looked at his hands that was behind him, what was he hiding?
"What are you holding?" Hayoung furrowed her eyebrows.
"Oh.. This?" He showed her a hammer.
Hayoung was at loss of words. What could he possibly thinking? Will he kill her?
"Darling.. I ain't killing you," Taejun chuckled, getting closer to the mirror. "I heard you have a liking towards this mirror."
"Taejun-" Hayoung choked, felt as her heart was tugging on a tight string.
He raised the hammer above his head, "I will make you regret your life decision!"
"TAEJUN!!!"
The sound of glass shattering were ringing in their ears.
