I didn't know whether to head back inside, so I just sat at the stairs of the inn, as the cold wind sent chills down my spine. Not many people were around at this time of the night, and I sat the furthest away from the crowds. The less they know, the better. Or so I thought.
What should I even tell Sasuke after this? How am I supposed to act around him?
Why do things have to be so complicate- I didn't even finish as my thoughts were cut off, as I sensed around 6 powerful chakras heading my way. Fast.
What the hell?! Who are they? Their moments are so coordinated, sort of the way it felt with the Anbu... could it be? There's no way.
My thoughts rushed through my head as I ran through the cold wind. One thing echoed in my mind. Again and again.
They're coming for me.
I can't reach Sasuke in time. Even if I do, will he even protect me?
He tried to choke me against a wall a few minutes back... so if anything, he'll be glad without me in his way.
That thought alone slowed me down. What am I even doing? What was I thinking?
I'm not supposed to be here. I shouldn't exist. This world doesn't need my meddling, and if the timeline messes up and the people I really care about die... it'll all be my fault.
Why am I running?
They'll be better off with me dead. I did want to change a few things but..
I sucked in a breath as I felt the six chakras surrounding me. This is it. Too late. My eyes scanned the room to see 6 ninjas dressed in black. Their moments were so fast, but regular and perfectly in sync at the same time. But it was a different type of coordination from the Anbu.. how-
A searing pain shot through my head and I turned back to see one of them had knocked me down with the hilt of a sword, snuck up behind me. I touched my head, and my hair wet and sticky with blood. They hit just the right spot, I could already feel my vision blurring. They moved closer, and the more they did, the more suffocated and uncomfortable I felt. I wanted to scream. Everything hurt, and I just wanted to get away from this place. I threw my hands out, stretched them and something felt like it was slowing out of me.
The last sound I remember is the shattering of all the doors and the windows of the inn, and this sudden tiredness I felt as if someone had sucked the life out of me. I looked around to see most of the Ninjas were knocked out and others had deep cuts from the glass shards.
Did I do that? I stared at my hands, unbelievingly but head hurt and I fell.
But before I did, I managed to glance at one of their headbands, only to notice the symbol of the Village Hidden in the mist.
The shinobhi were from Kirigakure.
Next chapter:
I woke up in a cell.
It was a dark, musty, and solid brick walled cell, with little light flowing through the jail bars. I was in jail, like an actual criminal. My blood boiled with anger.
What the hell?!
My hands hurt and that's when I looked up to notice, my hands were chained, and I was hanging with them over my head. The handcuffs bit my wrists as I shook with anger when I didn't even remember how long I have been hanging like this. One emotion raged in me, more than pain and loneliness. Anger surged through me.
Whoever treated me like this, is gonna pay.
WIth their life.
