When Hoseok and Yoongi get back to your house they're almost bombarded by the figure of your running into them.
"Guys guess what?" you shout, ecstatic as you jump around them, wanting to share your delight with someone else and now that they were home, finally excited to do so. "I've got a job!" you punch your fists in the air and look at them expectantly.
Their eyes widen together in growing surprise and relief and happiness before Hoseok lets out the wildest shout you've ever heard, as if he'd just won a long tiring hard game of UNO. Screeching out of happiness like he'd achieved something impossible he dances around you as Yoongi just stares at you in disbelief.
"What? No way?"
You and Hoseok dance around and around in circle holding onto each other for dear life as you can't stop laughing at the same time at how ridiculous this was. Grabbing the patient Yoongi who couldn't necessarily join that sort of fun, Hoseok forces his partner to be part of the joy in some way at least. Before you know it, Yoongi too has become excited and the the three of you run around in circles happy for your little success.
"So what is it?" Hoseok asks curiously, eyes shining. The celebration stops momentarily as they wait in anticipation for your answer.
You smile a little sheepishly, now losing the confidence and pride you'd had just moments ago. You hadn't expected them to be that happy, and now you were afraid of letting them down with the truth.
"It's freelancing work," you say, the volume of your voice lowering. "I edit and proofread some work, but if it goes well I might actually get a permanent job and properly paid and everything."
Hoseok and Yoongi stare at you, for a fraction of a second before Hoseok smiles wide again, holding your hands excitedly. "It's a start!" he tells you, hopefully. "You can do it, I know you can! From here on, we only go up!!" He jumps again, rocketing your spirits again and the bothof you grin at each other, however, this time in Yoongi's absence. You didn't really care much for him though, you were willing to grab onto any fragment of hope you can get, something to persuade you and tell that you were doing well. At least you had Hoseok who was the biggest bundle of joy, so soulful, always so positive.
In the midst of your happiness, your cellphone rings playing out a bouncy ringtone that sounded like it could set the night alight. Moving away you go to answer it, skipping on your way as you were in a good mood now. Hoseok turns to Yoongi, his smile fading as he begins to look a little worried now.
"This is a good thing, right?" he says, wincing a little. "Everyone starts out small."
They'd gotten their expectation too high at those words of employment. Even though it was something to keep you busy, and brought in some money, it wasn't going to pay the bills, your basic necessities, you were still going to have to hustle through in a way. That worried them even more and it wasn't like they could be by your side forever.
"It'll do for now," Yoongi agrees, being his realistic and lightly pessimistic self. Suddenly he coughs, and he raps his chest, furrowing his eyebrows as Hoseok talks over him.
"No it is a good thing," Hoseok repeats trying to convince himself. "I mean, she was literally jobless before this. Even if it's just momentary, at least someone saw the potential in her right? It'll raise her spirits, her confidence. We should see Seokjin entering her life sometime soon too, and he's really strong minded too. Together they'll figure something out for her, yeah...that's how it's going to be...right? Yoongi? Yoo-"
He stops short when he sees Yoongi leaning forward, looking confused and lost as he holds his shoulder hurt.
"What's wrong?" Hoseok asks, getting concerned suddenly.
