Chapter Three: Arrival

28th February 1985

Lily has been experiencing pains all day and from last experience she knew that this meant Lauren was going to be born soon and as predicted towards the end of February. She was in the kitchen finishing making dinner for the her family when she heard the sound of someone appertains just outside the house wards, she heard the front door open and James called that he was home, she was just calling back that she was in the kitchen when it happened. "James we need to go to the hospital now"
James came into the kitchen followed by Harry, "okay" he replied and held out his hand to her as they walked to the fireplace to use the floo; he picked up the hospital bag and took Harry's hand in his spare one as they stepped into the green fire "St Mungo's" he called.

As soon as they arrived they were taken to a room and as the healers prepared Lily James alerted there friends as to what was happening, all of whom arrived quickly.

A few hours had pasted and it was time for Lauren to enter the world. Healers filled in to assist with the birth, James was sat next to Lily's bed and was talking to her to distract from what was going on.

Everything was going fine. Heartbeat normal. Breathing normal. No distress. And then the musical sound of a health newborn crying. But there was something wrong because the healers whisked their daughter away before anything could be said or done...

1st April 1985

It was early in the morning and Emmeline and Remus were spending some time reading together on the sofa before Remus had to head out to work. At 7:45 Remus started to get ready to leave for work as he turned to the fireplace how heard a sharp intake of breath from behind him, he whipped around with a look of worry and anxiety on his face. "I don't think you will be going to work just yet" Emmeline said through clenched teeth "we need to go to the hospital."
Remus stood frozen for a minute and then when he saw the pain flooding his wife's face he jumped taking her hand and the strap of the hospital bag and stepped into the fireplace "St Mungo's"

Just like with James and Lily they were taken to a room and remiss alerted his friends and work what was happening, his work sent a congratulatory reply and allowed him three weeks off stating that if he needed more to let them know, soon after this message their friends arrived, as the day wore on there was slow progress but in the early hours of the afternoon just after their friends had returned from lunch things started to speed up. A piercing cry broke through the air as a healthy baby boy entered his new surroundings. Tears ran down the faces of both parents as they heard the cries of their first born, which steadily grew heavier as Kyian was placed in his mother's arms. As they stared down at the little boy with silvery blue eyes and naturally tanned skin they imagined various pathways that he could take each one make both swell with more love, pride and happiness.

It wasn't until they went for a routine checkup for Kyian that they realised something was wrong and even then month went on and numerous specialists doctors, both magical and non-magical, were consulted. It wasn't until Kyian was five months old that they were informed of what was wrong with Kyian.
