𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁

the shrieking sirens accompanied by the distant murmurs of the neighborhood spectators tarried across the suburb as blood dripped continuously out of kim sunwoo's lifeless body, mixing along the puddles accumulating the streets. the heavy rain poured against everyone surrounding him, especially the ten males whom he once looked up to as his brothers, now mourning at their newfound loss - hearts broken, breaths hitching, palms clenching.

he was murdered the second the clock struck to twelve, the 31st of october. a gunshot to his head had silenced him followed by two to his chest as he fell on the ground and soon drowned in his own blood.

that's what the police had come up with since nobody has actually seen the crime up close except for a neighbor in question from across their house who allegedly had a peek at the scene.

"t-there i was, watching a horror movie in the television like how i would every halloween night when my dog started barking!", he reasoned out to the cops. the boys kept their eyes on him as he spoke. "i was scared since it was raining so i hid and took a peek from my window. that's when i s-saw it." he looked horrified, honestly. a grim expression was seen on his face. looks like somebody's not going to stay up watching scary films anymore.

"can you describe the murderer at least?", sangyeon, the eldest of the bunch, spoke up. he looked the most composed out of the ten other males but if you listened closely, you could hear the pain in his voice.

"sunwoo..", weeped eric as he buried his face against juyeon's chest, the older immediately pulling him close for comfort. the rest watched in vain, trying to hold the tears threatening to pour but was unable to. and with that, they cried in silence.

"i'm sorry, i didn't see clearly..", the man heaved a deep sigh, feeling sorry since maybe if he shifted from his position and actually did his best to look closely, he might've seen a face. however fear took over him and the moment he saw how the stranger shot the victim, he instantly fled towards a safer spot to call the police. "he wore a black raincoat though."

the officers thanked the man afore proceeding to take care of the corpse, with some reaching out to also query the victim's close ones but everyone uttered the same thing - either they were asleep or was completely oblivious of sunwoo's whereabouts.

"we were asleep. it was a tiring day.", the older ones, sangyeon and jacob declared. "so were we.", haknyeon, kevin and chanhee followed. "we were watching a horror movie in my room.", changmin stated, pointing at juyeon, younghoon and hyunjae. "eric went to grab some food in the kitchen..", juyeon chimmed, clutching the said boy closer to him for more comfort.

"that's when you heard the gunshots?", the police eyed him.

"y-yes..", eric stuttered yet still manage to mutter a coherent word. you can tell he was definitely close to sunwoo as he was the one showing the most emotions.

"does the victim have any enemies or did he get into a fight recently?", another question was thrown their way and jacob was quick to speak up. "none that we know of, sunwoo's a.. was, good person and despite his playful demeanor, he was never the sort to get into deep arguments."

everybody eyed jacob, spared each other short glances and proceeded to nod, agreeing with jacob's words. they were true without a doubt.

"i see. again, we're sorry about your loss and we'll update you if we have any leads on the murderer.", the good cop reasured to which the latters responded by nodding.

"ah!", the man from earlier beamed - the one who saw bits of the crime from his window. everybody's attention landed on him, curious and desperate as to what he had to say.

"there were two of them!"

nobody uttered a single word, tension filling the atmosphere at the sudden revelation.

sunwoo had two killers? who the hell did he piss?

"the other guy seemed like a brunette.. that's all i remember", the man added.

"we'll keep that in mind sir, thank you for your cooperation."

not at me writing this in an impromptu manner LMAO jesus take the wheel. anyways, it's my first time writing a horror themed story. what are your thoughts about it?
