Chapter 5 We met again
It’s already been done and I know, I should stop recalling those memories because they aren’t helping me to cope with what’s happening, I mean really, this is just absurd. I can’t eat normally without thinking what had changed in me and especially, I can’t sleep without seeing those eyes.
Eyes that can see right through me, it feels like it knows what I am thinking and those were the eyes of the guy who took my virginity. It feels like it’s haunting me and relieves every moment of that night over and over again. It’s pathetic, I know.
A couple of days had passed. No one still knew what really happened that night; things are just the same minus Andrew in my life. I guess, that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
After that night, I was interrogated by Sandy on why I suddenly got lost at the club blah blah blah. I told her that I wasn’t feeling well that night so I just had to go home and I didn’t said my goodbyes because they’re having fun and I don’t want to ruin it.
Apparently she believed me and dropped the subject. I was glad because I wasn’t ready to tell her the truth yet. Soon she’ll find out but not right now.
“Oh my God Emmy! Have you heard?” Sandy rushed to me while I closed my locker. If you could see her facial expression, it is funny. The way her mouth opens wide and her eyes are bulging out like she’d seen a ghost. The way she handles her bag while running, not so lady like but that’s my best friend and I love her for that.
“Heard what?” I narrowed my eyes at her. She stopped in front of me to catch her breathe.
“You didn’t hear didn’t you?” She took a deep breathe and said it all at once. “That Andrew is dating now one of the cheerleaders!” She studied me for a second and continued. “I know right? Can you believe it? You just broke up for a couple of days and-“
“Yeah.. I know, let it be, I don’t care.” I shrugged lightly and gave her a reassuring smile but I know, it came out as a strained one.
Even though there is still this hurt that I am considering and no matter how I try to fool people that I don’t care, that I am not hurting, deep inside, I know it hurts.
I can trick myself into believing that everything’s fine while the truth is, it’s not. I may not believe in love but I’m still a girl with human feelings that wanted to be love and cared at some point.
There was a time that I thought I feel it for Andrew and I thought I may be falling for him. He is not ugly at all. He is actually one of the hottest guy in our campus. He is tall with broad shoulders, hair that is in a messy blonde. He’s not just hot but also handsome that’s why many girls tried to hit on him when we’re still together.
“Oh sweetie, you’ll get over him. He’s-“
“The hottest guy in campus. People are thinking I don’t deserve him or something.”
“Oh you still love him..” I interrupted Collie as fast as I can. I know I don’t love him but what I felt for him was something close to that.
“No I don’t and never will.”
“Whoopsie.. speaking of the devil.” Just when Lauren said this, a blonde guy suddenly walked by in front of my sight. All the feelings I’ve been trying to push down and hide are rising up again and I don’t like it. I don’t want to be near him again after what happened, I don’t want to see his face or even breathe the same room air with him. I just can’t simply stand him right now.
“Aaand that’s my cue girls, I gotta go! See you all later dismissal!” I hollered while moving away from that area, it feels suffocating in there.
