"I'm so excited to watch your play!" You excitedly said to Bokuto as you were walking to school.
"Me too. I can't wait for the sword fight scene." He said.
"All of the team members will be on stage," You cheered, "Well, maybe me and Akaashi will be watching."
Bokuto sighed. You noticed his smile disappear.
"What is it, Kotaro?"
"I just realized, next year," Bokuto sighs again, "Akaashi will be the only one left from the team."
"He'll be all alone." He continued.
"Don't say that," You pat Bokuto's back, hiding your worry, "I'm here. I won't leave him."

11:48 am

"Class dismissed." Your teacher left the classroom.
As you stood up from your seat to stretch, Akaashi approached you to hand you a bento box.
"Kira wants you to have this," Akaashi said.
You took the bento box from him and thanked him and his sister.
"We should go to lunch," You said, "The third year's play is this afternoon."
Akaashi took his bento box, then walked with you to the cafeteria.

"By the way, My mom placed the painting in her office last night," Akaashi said as you took your seats.
"Oh? That's great." You said, "Anyway, I have to ask you something."
"What's that?" Akaashi opens his bento box.
"Will you still be playing volleyball next year?" You ask, then open your bento box.
Akaashi was about to answer but you cut him off, "Ohhh! Chicken Teriyaki?!" Your eyes widen as you see the food Kira prepared.
"I told Kira you like that dish," Akaashi said.
He remembered. You felt your heart skip a beat.
"U-Uh. Thank you so much! I appreciate it"

"The third years are preparing for the play," Akaashi said, "Should we visit them?"
"Sure. Kotaro must be hungry by now. I'll just bring him a packed lunch."
You bought a packed lunch and left to go to the third-years.

"Sorry for intruding." You and Akaashi said as you enter the gym. All the third years were preparing for the play.
As Kotaro noticed you, he greets you, "Akaahi! (Yn)! What are you doing here?!"
"We came to check on you." You said, walking towards Bokuto, "I also bought you lunch."
"Perfect timing, I'm hungry!" Bokuto said excitedly. You handed him the lunch pack and he immediately took it and ate in the bleachers.
"Hey, I want to eat too." A teammate said, and join Bokuto. The restless third-years took a break too.
"I'll be with the team," Akaashi said.
"Uhh- Yes." You replied.

You sat far side of the bleachers, avoiding the strong smell of spray paints. You looked at your seniors, working, giggling, and laughing. You looked at Akaashi over the circle of the volleyball team. He looked back at you, locking your eyes. He puts his thumbs up, mouthing, "You okay?" You nod as a yes, then looked away. You felt your heart beat faster.

After 5 minutes of looking around the gym, Keiji's reached his hand with a bottle of water, "You're probably dizzy with the toxic atmosphere. Have some water, it'll ease your head."

You grabbed the bottle from his hand and sipped a few rounds, a moment of silence before Keiji opened his mouth, "We should probably leave, the seniors are about to make the final preparation."
You and Keiji left the gym. Keiji holds your sleeve as he guides you through the halls.
"I'm fine, Keiji. I didn't inhale the paint much." You said to him as you walk
"It could affect late, who knows." He replies tightening his hold on your sleeve.

"It's really boring if you can't do much," You said.

You and Keiji are back to the cafeteria eating snacks.

"What do you mean?" He said, opening a bottle of water.

"You know, I'm not fun to be around," You sighed, "I'm not trying to sound sad and all, but it's true."

"That's not true. I'm having fun when I'm with you." Somehow, Keiji's words flattered you.

"Yeah, right," You replied, "not being able to run around, always being supervised, no choice actual freedom to do something because of my health is fun."

You look at Keiji, looking wary.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to rant." You apologized for being negative all of the sudden.

"No, no. Don't apologize," Keiji said, "I actually really like being around you, I really do."

You turned red from his choice of words so you looked down. Keiji, thinking he might've said something wrong, continued to speak.

"You're balanced when I'm with you and I like it. You're not boring!" He said with his eyes widened, "Please don't feel bad about yourself,"

Keiji patted you in the head. Again, you felt your heart skip a beat.

You raised your head to look at Keiji, "You mean it?"

Keiji, hand's still in your head, continued patting it, "Of course."

"Attention all high school students. To those who are available to watch the Third year's school play, A Hero's strength, please proceed to the gymnasium."

The school loudspeaker announced.

"Again, Attention all high school students. To those who are available to watch the Third year's school play, A Hero's strength, please proceed to the gymnasium."

"Hey, hey hey, Akaashi! (y/n)!" As you enter the gymnasium with the other students, You see Bokuto calling at you.

"Kotaro! cool hair." You chuckled at Bokuto's hair all accessorized.

"They need my hair down, okay," Bokuto says holding his head, "Anyway, Akaashi, Here are the seats you asked for to be reserved,"

Bokuto pointed at the row exclusive for a few people. hehehehe we have VIP seats.

"I asked Bokuto-san earlier to reserve us a seat," Keiji said putting his glasses on, "I figured being in the middle of the audience will stress you,"

Keiji-, You thought. I will never stop being thankful to you.

Bokuto left for the play. You took your seats. Minutes later and play begins.

"The Hero is on his way to save his fellow friends," The Narrator said.

"On to the Icy Hill!" Bokuto said in character.

The atmosphere in the gymnasium matched the play, cold and breezing. Keiji noticed how you shiver. Feeling a warm cloth around you, you faced the source of the warmth, It's Akaashi slipping his blazer behind you. Suddenly, the atmosphere felt warmer, not because of his blazer around you, but something you feel.

"Thank you, Keiji," You thanked Akaashi.

My feeling's becoming stronger, I have to talk to someone about this! You thought.

"You think you can get away with killing my friend!" Bokuto said, wielding a plastic sword, "Turns out you can't!"

"Oh, but I will! And I will do that by killing you as well!" Konoha, The antagonist, says the line as he draws his sword too and runs to Bokuto.

Bokuto and Konoha's fight scene was very acrobatic. Turns out being an athlete can really help with other works too.

Bokuto's character was in the bad end. He was on the ground with no sword while Konoha's sword was raised, ready to slash the hero.

"Bye-bye, hero!" Before Konoha can stab Bokuto, Washio has stabbed Konoha first.

"Th-This c-can't b-be!" Konoha says as he fell on his knees slowly.

"Ruff! I thought y-you-" Bokuto says as Konoha completely fell to the ground.

"Alwin!" Washio reached his hands to Bokuto, helping him to stand up.

When Bokuto stood up, so did Konoha but at a slow pace, "You all die you rats!"

The actors acted in slow motion, Konoha pulled the sword from his chest to slayBokuto but Washio has pulled Bokuto while his arms has opened. Konoha has cut off the hero's arm. Washio then stabbed Konoha again. The antagonist, who is streaming with red water, has surely died.

The play ended with Bokuto's left hand tucked inside his costume to seem like he has no left arm, reunited with his friends because they are The hero's strength.

Applause started as the third-years thanked the audience and Bokuto yelled HEY HEY with one hand.

Laughing with you is Akaashi, who is looking at you while you watch Bokuto being goofy.
