Chapter 3

Sadie's POV

"Well I'm actually meeting up with a friend downtown to have dinner." I said to him.

"Oh, okay. Well have a good night, see you tomorrow." He said as he started to turn around.

I followed him to the door and after he was outside I shut it behind him. "Great. Now I have to find someone to go eat dinner with." I said to myself. I went to my car to go get my phone and my tennis bag. When I was walking back inside I couldn't help but feel that there were eyes on me. I turned around but there was nothing there.

By now it was 5:30. I unlocked my phone and called me best friend Peyton to see if he would go have dinner with me.

"Hey P, what are you doing right now?"

"Noting. Just working on an AP Gov. project, why?"

"Do you want to go to dinner with me?"

"Yeah, when?"

"Right now."

"Yeah!!"

"Okay, I'll pick you up in 10." I said.

Then we hung up. I went up stairs and grabbed my black monogrammed purse and threw my Jack Rogers on. I hadn't had time to change from practice yet so I just left my practice clothes on. I ran downstairs and grabbed my phone and keys and locked the front door.

I was getting into my car when I saw Coach Blake coming out of his house and going to his car. I plugged my AUX cord into my phone and played PANDORA. My country station was on from earlier so I just put my phone in the cup holder. I was backing out and Coach Blake was behind me now.

I got to the end of the street and turned right going to town because I had to get Peyton. I knew the way to his house by heart. Peyton and I have been best friends since we were 4 years old and in day care together. He was good friends with Tucker. My parents loved him, especially my mom.

By the time I was done thinking about everything, I was at his house. I honked my horn and he came out in his favorite pair of shorts that I got him, which were salmon color, a white and blue Vineyard Vines shirt and his Wallabees... he was such a total prep.

He got in my car and I turned the music down and we started talking.

"So, I heard the new tennis coach is 'hot'. Well thats what my sister tells me anyway."

"Oh really, I think everybody has heard that around here."

"Yeah, well this isn't the first time I have heard that. So is it true, is he as hot at everyone thinks he is?"

"P, I'm his athlete and student. I really can't say."

"Fine. Whatever, but just so you know, I say that you do like him."

"Yeah. Okay, Peyton. Where do you want to go for dinner?"

"Columbo's!"

"Okay. That sounds really good right now!"

Columbo's is a pizza place downtown. When I was little my dad and I went out for dinner one night, just me and him. He asked me where I wanted to go and said I wanted pizza. Now, when you live in a town with a big college like Clemson as the next town over, there are really a lot of places and specifacally pizza places to eat at.  Out of all the pizza places that are in my town, my dad picked Columbo's, so ever since then that was our place to go and my place to get away to.

We get there and it is already 6:30, so we walk in and Rebecca seats us. Peyton and I are "regulars" around here.

She takes our drink orders and she doesn't need to ask what we want to eat.
