"This place is so seriously BIG. Wonder what the up keep is. Like a ball park figure in maintenance. Very "neat". Nothing seems out of place!.." Ethan scratched his head absentmindedly. Him and Jack were sitting in Jack's car, up the driveway. Jack had wanted them to remain on the street (Stare through cracks in the fences, peep through the bars of the gates. Stand and look over the brick walls!) Ethan had laughed at him, till he realised he wasn't joking.

But.

Ethan wanted to view the place up close.

Parking on the drive. No one would disturb them.

Jack looked a bit "jumpy". Ethan thought that was funny too. Jack kept saying, the place "looked" too silent..."Ya never see people. No one comes or goes. No activity, man. Zip!.."

"People live there. You don't need to see them, to know.." Ethan felt certain. He wasn't sure why. But.   Maybe Jack was right.     No one ever "entered/exited" (And...That is a strange thing)    Various sources had commented, maybe the large home and grounds - Were owed by a wealthy family, that just wanted the place for the sake of just having it.

Perhaps, it was a government building?

Perhaps many things, the mind could run wild.  No one really had an answer to that one question. Who, if anyone - Lived in the massive building before them?

Jack loved the comment, it was a "holiday home".      Humongous, multiple roomed, eye-sore grounds - Holiday home!       Ethan felt something different, he wasn't sure what - But, he felt safe about the place.    Like, now - The car in the driveway.   Safe.      Any normal person, would park out on the street (Spy on the place) get hassled by the neighbours, followed up by the police.    Once the police had "moved" you on, that's where most curiosity visits ended.

Official folk would have to gain a warrant to visit closer. Public folk, would just have to be content with what they saw from the street.

"We should've got warrants.    Boss-man would have given them.       All we had to say, was....We saw "suspicious" behaviour.  Drop the name of this area, boss-man would have "given" them within minutes..."       Jack glanced at Ethan.   "But, noooo!     You, bud.  Have to be all mysterious.   And nuts.."

Jack did a quick look out the front window, looked back at Ethan...."Why, the drive way?.."

"Cause.....Jackie-boy.   Everyone parks on the street. They get stared at as much as questioned, as to why their there.   Nothing learned!    Park here.   No one questions.    We do as we like.    We look, we might get out.    We might see shit.    We may come to learn a secret!    Think, Jack.    You and I might "achieve" the unthinkable!.."

"And, that is?!.."        Jack stared at Ethan.

"The story behind this building.   What actually grows on the grounds.   Why no one can ever give a straight answer, buddy-boy!..." Ethan had a calm, quiet look (But his eyes were dark and darting around in his eye-sockets. Jack knew from experience, Ethan was up to something/wanted to know something. Had a "vibe". Jack also knew too well, Ethan went to places/talked to certain people (It always started with..."Let's go for a drive, Jack....")

They would then head back to the office - Ethan would be requested for a job. He'd be given a folder.

And, certain "mysteries" were no more!     Jack was always amazed by what Ethan could achieve.    He was concerned at times too.   Some jobs given were risky ones, their boss put Ethan in positions that could seriously go wrong.
