Ivy followed Clay to the car. He opened the back door of the car for her, to put the suitcases away. He moved out of the way and walked around the car and started the car.
She carefully put them in the car and closed the back door. She opened the front passenger door and gently sat down in the seat, immediately buckling her seat belt, and gently pulled the belt to see if it had clicked or not. It did.
She looked at Clay before quickly turning back towards the windshield and began to fidget her fingers. Clay quickly looked over at her fidgeting hands and back at the road. "What's wrong?" He had asked. She sighed, shrugging. "Just anxious, I guess. I mean I'm about to live with YouTubers.. one of which hasn't even done a face reveal. Wouldn't you be anxious?"
He chuckled. "Yeah, I was actually planning on doing a face reveal soon, actually." There was a few moments of silence before he continued, saying, "And the dudes are really cool, they'll either be like uncles or other dads, I guess. You know it might make up for the fact I don't have a girlfriend or wife to be a mother to you." He was handling the steering wheel with his right hand and switched to his left hand.
She looked out the window, they had just left her neighborhood. She looked back over at him. She began to study him. He in fact, had a dirty blond hair color. It was wavy with occasional curls. His eyes looked like hers, she admired them, for she had never met anyone else with green eyes as bright as hers. His chair was also set back a bit, for how tall he was.
She looked in the back of the car. It was very tidy, the only thing messing it was her suitcases. She looked back up front to the screen in the middle. It was very clean and clear of any dirt. This was her first time in a Tesla.
She looked over at him once more. "W-what do you want me to call you?" She blurted out, causing an accidental stutter. "Hm?" He asked without taking his eyes off of the road. "I mean, technically you're my dad now, so do you want me to call you anything?" She asked quietly. He shook his head, chuckling.
She was flustered in embarrassment. "What?" She stammered. He shook his head once more. "Although you may know a lot about me right now and I am technically your dad.. You can call me as you please. You don't have to call me Dad or anything immediately. We just met."
"How long have you been interested in adopting me?" She asked, looking out the window. He takes a few moments to answer before saying, "Well, I saw you on your foster mom's facebook. She was on my suggested friends, so I took a look at her account. There was a public post talking about you, how you were an orphan. I messaged them, interested. It's been about 2 months. I wanted to wait until closer to the end of the year, for summer break. It would give you more time to get to know all of us. To be honest we didn't even know you were a fan." He said looking at the Dream merchandise she was wearing.
"Well, I am. This is my favorite one, actually." He looked at her like she was crazy. "But it's so old!" He exclaimed. She looked down at her hands that were fidgeting in her lap. "Well, any of your merchandise that had green, was my favorite. But, this was black and green, my favorite colors-" She got cut off as the car came to a stop, at a decently sized house. It looked like something a Kardashian would live in. She sat there in awh.
He nudged her, saying, "We're here." He turned the car off and quickly go out. She too, got out after unbuckling her seat belt. She stood, closing the passenger front door and opening the passenger back door. She quickly grabbed the suitcases and froze. A wave of anxiety rose over her as she again realized, she would be living with the Dream Team. Her dream.
Clay walked over to her, resting a hand on her shoulder. "It'll be okay. The boys aren't home right now, I told them to go out and give you time to decorate your room and feel at home." Then it hit her. She would also have a new room. "Can I buy some more stuff for my room? Like a new bed set... I forgot mine at my foster parents- Ah wait never mind forget I asked!" She said quickly realizing she had actually said her thought out loud.
