Chapter 1- Hard To Get, Huh?

Monday- (Shinsou's second week)

It was the second year of UA and a spot had opened up for a determined, moody teen who could now fulfill his dream of becoming a hero.

Who needed that nasty grapist anyway when you could have an introverted human cat. just swap the purple-haired ones.

Shinsou flung his bag over one of his shoulders opening the door of his dorm. He pulled the door handle shut and walled down the hallway. His dorm was at the back of the hall, the furthest away from the Common Room and Kitchen. The sound of his shoes echoed down the hall as he walked in silence. Mostly everyone was still asleep except Iida who was awake doing extra credit homework they got on Friday last week.

Shinsou's PoV-
Shinsou passed the doors of the other rooms paying no attention to the snoring you could hear if you listened close enough. He came to the common room and walked to the kitchen that branched off the Common Room. He got a bowl from an overhead cupboard putting it on the counter turning to the pantry to get cereal.

He just picked up a box of plain Sultana Bran and pouring it into the bowl then finished by pouring milk over. He sat down at the smallest table in the corner and began eating. he heard a startled sound from Iida.
"Good morning Shinsou, I didn't see you come in," he said looking over to him.
"Mm-hm," Shinsou replied, his eyes flickered up then back to his food.

As he stood up to clean his bowl leaving his bag on the seat, he heard a loud 'Hey, Uraraka' as Denki walks in fully dressed in uniform. Shinsou walks by him brushing past.
"Hey, Iida, Morning Shinsou," Denki says almost shouting.
"Morning Kamanari," Lida calls across the room. Shinsou stays silent.

Denki's PoV-
Uraraka walks past him still in pajamas as she rubs her eyes. She pulls open the fridge and bends down.
"Hey, Denki," She perks up straightening up while waving a tub of left-overs in one hand. "there's enough for 2 in here. You want some?" She asks him.
"Oh, sure!" Denki replies loudly as walks over next to Shinsou who is washing his bowl. He grabs 2 plates from an overhead cabinet. Denki begins to hum a small tune him and Jiro made up last week. He walked back over to the counter where Uraraka had got a serving spoon and 2 forks sitting next to the tub of leftover rice. Denki put the plates down with a small clunk.

Shinsou walked past out of the kitchen part of the common room as he goes over to collect his bag and leaves the common into the hallway. Denki brings his attention back to the rice Uraraka just served on his plate then serving her own. He picked them up and put them into the microwave the heat them up. Todoroki enters the kitchen with his homework he set the stove onto medium heat. He put his homework next to Iida.
"Have you eaten yet?" Denki overheard him say to Iida.
"Not yet," Iida replied.
"I'll make you some eggs and then we can do the extra credit together. Midoriya should be up but then and he can join us," Todoroki said. He walked back to the kitchen getting what he needs.

Denki watched the timer on the microwave tick down to zero, it rang as Denki opened it, pulling the rice's out. "Here you go," he said to Uraraka passing her a plate and she smiled and nodded in response as she walked out of the kitchen. He speed ate standing there in the kitchen. when he finished he set his plate into the sink without rinsing it. Todorki looked over at him as he walked over to drain the water from the eggs he boiled.

Denki ran down the hallway passing Midoriya on his way up who smiled and nodded. Once he got to his dorm he went inside and grabbed his bag. He put it on his back properly. Glancing over at the key on his dresser he picked it up and walked over to the door. After he was out or his dorm he locked his door. Denki took a look around the hallway and yelled out. "WAKE UP EVERYONE!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
"DUDE! Chill!" Kirishima called out as he opened his door.
Jiro opened her door, she and Mina walked out chatting to each other "Best sleepover ever!" Hagakure squealed as she walked out behind them. Kota opened his door and walked out silently.

Denki skipped down the Dorm Hall, into the common room, passing the kitchen branch off and down the main hallway. After going down the flight of stairs he began the walk to school.

Shinsou's PoV-
He was just about to leave the building when he heard Denki yell from upstairs waking everyone up. Shinsou put his headphones on flicking through the playlist he had on his phone, walking through the doors of the dormitory building. He walked down the pavement slightly nodding to his music.

After the 5 minutes of walking, he enters the UA gates. Bakugo is already there practicing with his quirk in the courtyard. Shinsou turns up his music trying to block out the sound of Bakugo screaming,

Denki's PoV-
He runs into the gates and sees Bakugo making these massive explosions out the front. Denki begins to walk over to the entrance to see someone go in before him. He looks over to whoever it was and runs over to the door trying to see who it is. When enters his sees no one there. Denki slows his pace and begins to walk to the 1A classroom. He bounces his bag readjusting where it sits on his back. He looks over to the janitor, "Good morning sir!" He calls across the halls.
"Morning Kamanari," He says with a small wave. "You're here early today," He added looking at Denki.
"Yeah, I am!" He said sounding pumped. "The common room was filling up fast so I decided to finish the weekend homework in the classroom before Aizawa Sensei gets there," he explained.
"Good planning," the janitor told him before Denki walked off.

Once he got to the classroom he saw Shinsou doing his homework in silence with his headphones on his head. How does he not sing or dance to the song he's listening to? Denki wondered to himself.

Shinsou looked up to see Denki staring at him. He blinked expectantly at him as if he was asking what he was looking at. Denki saw him look up, he knew he should look away or start a conversation as a cover-up but all he could manage to say was...
"Even though you can tell you haven't slept properly..." He paused "You're so captivating," Denki just looked at him, not bearing to pull his gaze away.
"Uh-er" Shinsou mumbled starstruck, staring back at Denki. He ripped his line of sight away from the short boy even though he didn't want to. "Thanks, Den-Kamanari" he stuttered, brushing the complement off as if nothing had happened.

He's so dismissive why can't he take a compliment without being embarrassed. But the way I couldn't control the way I said it... Dame it Denki! You're being weird. he said to himself with a disappointed sigh. he had no clue why he was disappointed but he went over to his seat near the back and started his weekend homework until class starts.
