"Excuse me? Akaashi Keiji, you are in my territory."
The dark-haired boy spun around in surprise. "I'm sorry... what?"
"I..."
Damn it. He wanted me to repeat myself. But that sentence was more of a single-impact, one-shot-one-kill, straight-to-the-head kind of statement. It wasn't something you could repeat. Saying it again would just be... lame.
I sighed. I didn't know what else to do. I hadn't thought this far. "I said, you are trespassing in my territory." I restated loud and clear, injuring my pride in the process. I swear, he better have heard me or else that would leave me no choice but to...
"I heard you the first time," Akaashi replied indifferently.
I frowned. So this man heard me perfectly and yet decided to let me clown myself. "Then what's the problem?" I asked, my irritation slightly showing.
"Sorry, I just don't quite understand what you meant by your "territory". Were you referring to this room? Or perhaps the piano?"
Wow. He was extremely polite. Why was I even surprised? This was Akaashi Keiji, captain of the volleyball team and popular all-rounder.
To be honest, I didn't particularly like polite people, especially overly polite ones who were genuinely kind and not just faking it. Rude, annoying and fake people were easy to deal with. Just throw whatever shit they throw at you right back at them.
But what was I supposed to do when I was offended by a nice guy like this one? I was sure he didn't mean to. Therefore, I couldn't exactly badmouth him or yell at him to go away. That would only make me look like the uncivilized one.
"Well, I guess what I meant to say is that this is my usual practice spot and you're kind of... intruding."
"You practice here? What instrument do you play?"
That's it. I'm done with nice people. You could only get away with insulting once. I didn't care whether it was intentional or unintentional. I was deeply offended.
Rolling up my sleeves, I began preparing myself to throw a few punches when Akaashi spoke again.
"Do you happen to know a girl who plays the flute? I think she practices here everyday, at least from what I've seen."
I'm sorry... WHAT?
"Dude, are you blind?"
He looked at me strangely, as if I was the one who was visually impaired. I mean, he wasn't entirely wrong, I was blind without my glasses. But that wasn't the point here.
