It's weird how we can change. How we grow, and we get tainted, twisted, and how sometimes, we undo those tangles we cause.
I have my reasons to be who I am, to do the things I do for money, but I never thought it'd get this messy.
"No," Mimoi growls at my patient suggestion of killing Kyuuna right here and now. The arrogance in her annoying blue eyes makes me fume. She thinks we're so much better than Kyuuna, she thinks she's so much better than the woman she wants to hurt.
Before I know it, Mimoi attacks me. She launches herself forward, her whole being filled with electricity. I evade the attack easily and grab her by the shoulder, electricity jolting through my body and escaping from the tips of my other hand's fingers that are lifted away. I don't feel an ounce of pain, I don't feel remorse, I work like a machine as I kick the air out of Mimoi's lungs with one swift movement.
As soon as Mimoi falls to the ground, I grab her by the hair and jolt the knife from my belt, ready to end this foolery. It had been a doomed plan right from the start.
However, I'm too slow.
The knife barely scrapes Mimoi's skin before she grabs my arm with both of her hands, nails digging into my flesh. She throws me to the ground, stumbles onto me, and suddenly, it's a laughable fight of fists and rolling around in the hay and dirt.
My ears are ringing from the excess electricity that gets into my system from the contact I make with Mimoi every second. I know it exerts me, but it doesn't stop me from swinging my fists and legs at the woman each opportunity I get. I bite, I thrash around, until finally, I manage to kick her away from me.
We both get up. We circle each other and I recognize the emotion in Mimoi's eyes. It's rage, unfiltered, pure, greedy in its essence. It's a dangerous weapon, and a poor host.
"So, what the fuck is your deal? I thought you wanted money, I thought you wanted the bitch dead?" Mimoi spits out as we move in a dance of decadence together. I'm completely ignoring Kyuuna, just like Mimoi is, but I'm sure she's as confused as Mimoi is. Shit.
"I changed my mind." My words are lies. I haven't changed my mind, my true intentions just have been buried all along.
"Well, I didn't change mine!"
As soon as Mimoi's words reach my consciousness, I know she's going to make a mistake in her next movements. Rage is a poor help in battle, after all.
Mimoi charges forward to me again, her steps uncertain, her stance poor, she's a wild animal, a wild nightmare ready to get destroyed.
It happens quickly. I'm trained for this. One second, Mimoi is in front of me, skin contact. The next second, she's on the ground, a poisoned dagger sticking from her chest. She gags, but I know it's too late for her.
"Don't mingle in my business ever again," I mutter and pull the knife from her body. She whimpers and grimaces as the poison starts to slowly stop her heart.
"Give me... the antidote," Mimoi gasps as she clenches her shirt. I know it's painful. I know, and I don't care. She'll get over it.
"I don't carry one with me."
I'm pretty sure Mimoi is dead before I can finish my sentence. I turn away from her, only to be greeted with a face full of fear from Kyuuna.
Kyuuna stares at the scene in panic, tears in her eyes. I wish I was like her.
"Princess," I mutter, tired of this foolery, this dragging scene of unfortunate events.
Kyuuna's eyes widen as I take a step towards her and lift her chin with the edge of the dagger.
