At the end of the week you no longer needed your crutches to walk; Malfoy still continued to pick on you for no apparent reason; and you and Hermione were becoming study buddies. The main problem you were facing was the lack of wand. Everyone except you had one.

Now it was Saturday, you were joining Ron, Hermione and Ron's little sister on a trip to Hogsmeade Village with the other students. The school had generously provided some funds to you for the wand and other supplies. Harry couldn't come though, he didn't have a parent or guardian so couldn't get the slip signed, they only allowed you to go since it was essential to your learning.

The location the trip was centred around was a long, main strip of shops, pubs and houses. Though it was only September, the tops of the pointed structures were thickly coated with snow. The ground was cobbled and the cracks filled with the white powder. Wherever Hogsmeade was located, you were certain it was high above sea-level.

"Right, first things first, (y/n) needs to get a wand." Hermione declared taking her position as the leader for the day. You agreed with her like the other two.

"Agreed." Spoke up Ron, "Ollivanders then?" Hermione and Ginny both nodded, so you just joined in.

"Looks like it." Ron mumble to represent the moving heads.

The group of you began making your way to the wand shop, though you trailed behind unsure which building was Ollivanders. The group of you came to a tired, old shop window which was painted a dim green. The door was similarly coloured with a large window split into nine.

"Off you go, (y/n). I don't think all of us need to join you," Hermione announced, you thought it was fair enough although you were very nervous.

You proceeded through the group of your few friends to the door and gave it a gentle push open. A bell positioned above the door deployed a quiet chime. You took a step inside and browsed the hoards of rectangular boxes, unfortunately nobody appeared behind the counter. The door was just about to close when Hermione slid inside and joined you; you exchanged smiles prior to both returning your attention to the unoccupied desk.

"Hello?" You enquired to see if there was any other presence in the store. After a short rumble, which resulted in you searching the store for the source, an avalanche of boxes fell from above and uncovered a male. He was older, around his 50s.

"Oh, hello girls." He appeared a little flustered as he approached the front of the store, "What can I assist you with?"

You glanced at Hermione prior to looking back to the man, as if she could assist with how to phrase your request.

"Uh, well, I'm looking for a wand. Can you help?" The enquiry didn't produce itself half as bad as you thought. The man seemed pretty pleased with the request.

"Of course, my dear!" He spoke enthusiastically and almost immediately produced one of the fancy boxes, "Here, try this one."

A long, brown wand, which was generally plain, was handed to you. You held it within your (left /right) palm and turned to Hermione, giving it a wave and incidentally whacking a passerby outside the shop.

"Oh no.." You muttered and quickly ran to door to ensure you hadn't hurt one of your friends. Hermione followed closely behind. You were relieved to see that it wasn't one of your friends, however you weren't so relieved to see it was Malfoy.

"Was that you, (l/n)?" The blonde sneered, standing up from the hard, cobbled ground. You gulped.

"Uh, maybe." You were much more nervous than before. You attempted to present yourself with an apologetic look, rather than the tempting option of amusement. Crabbe and Goyle however struggled to refrain from a couple chuckles. Malfoy didn't appear so pleased.
