"He's really gonna try it, huh?"

We will see.

A masked figure sat on the edge of a large telescope, watching two little figures down below speaking to each other.

"Hmm."

Bard shook himself, and took a deep breath. Even though Mask was to far away to hear the conversation they just had, he could hear his music as he sung, with beautiful tone. The song played on for a minute, ending quickly. The air shimmered, the music whisking Bard and Miriam off to see another Overseer.

Mask sat quietly for a few moments.

Did you think he wouldn't?

"After he felt so down?  I wasn't sure, but I can see his hope is still strong."

You've see this before. Why should it be any different?

Mask shrugged, "When you've been around long enough, you just know things. But you already know this, Eya."

That I do. But we still get surprised from time to time now, don't we?

"And yet you always try to start over. That I never understood."

People forget how to work together over time, and I would rather start over than see pointless death.

"If you could just have someone teach them how to work together, wouldn't that be better?"

Mask, you know the reason behind that.

The masked figure swung his legs a little.

"Maybe he might prove you wrong."
