I was at my boiling point. I had to talk to May.

Peter had been missing for so long at that point; I needed to step in, even if I couldn't do anything. And I didn't care that I was overstepping boundaries. I needed to see Pete. The only trouble was, he was missing.

Ever since that headline Melody read to us, it had blown up. News stations, papers, and articles were going on and on about Spider-Man's disappearance. It was scary to think that a hero that New York relied on so much was gone.

Tony had sent me a text, which he never does...like ever. Shocking, isn't it? I know.

It said that if Peter wasn't going to be there, then I had to. I had to fill the shoes of the boy in spandex.

Heh, 'The Boy in Spandex.' That could be an off-brand version of Harry Potter. But you know, without the spandex. Or maybe the Boy in the Striped Pajamas. But, hopefully, Peter doesn't end up like that poor little boy.

You know what I mean.

"Wait, can I come with you?" Ned asked as we walked down the sidewalk after school. We were on our way to Pete's.

"Of course, Ned. I didn't plan on seeing May without you."

"Okay, good. I miss May," Ned explained with a small frown on his face. "I don't miss her cooking, though."

I laughed and nudged his shoulder. "I can say that I can agree with all of that."

On our way to their apartment, Ned and I stopped by one of May's favorite restaurant to get her soup. I also bought Ned and me some food so we could all eat together. I had a hunch that May wasn't eating a lot.

We eventually made our way to their apartment; both Ned and I were anxious to see May. It had been too long. And it had also been too long since we saw Pete, but we knew he wasn't home.

Ned wrapped on the door and waited for May to open the door. We looked at each other nervously. I grabbed his sweaty hand and squeezed it in reassurance. He smiled and looked down at his tennis shoes.

"I'm nervous."

I squeezed his hand one more time to calm him. "Don't be; it's just May."

The apartment door barely opened, which revealed May. She looked...tired. Well, beyond tired. She looked like she hadn't slept in days, and she probably hadn't. The rest of her body was unrevealed because of the door. She barely had her eye peeking through the rift of the doorway and door.

"Oh...hey guys. Peter isn't here; sorry."

I shook my head and let go of Ned's hand. "We aren't here for just Peter. We're here to see you too, May."

"O-Oh, me? What for?"

Ned stepped in politely. "We want to see how you're holding up. And Lilo bought some soup for you. Your favorite; broccoli and cheddar!"

Her demeanor brightened just a tad bit. "Oh! You two are so sweet. You're so good to me."

"Anything for you, May," I reassured her. "May we come in?"

She chuckled nervously. "Are you sure you want to? I haven't really been keeping up with chores."

Ned and I giggled simultaneously. "We don't care, May. We promise."

"Yeah! Have you seen my room?" Ned exclaimed, which made May giggle lightly.

She opened the door all the way to let us in. It wasn't as bad as she made it seem. It was a little more disorganized than usual, but it was barely noticeable.
