Percy's P.O.V.

Thanks to a nightmare reminding me of my time in Tartarus, I woke up at four in the morning. After taking a quick shower and putting my clothes back on, I head down to the hotel's pool room to rejuvenate myself and kill some time till the breakfast bar opens. Since I didn't have a swimsuit and didn't want to freak out any other possible early risers with my clothes being completely dry under the water, I strip down to my boxers and place my clothes and Riptide in a neat pile on a deck chair next to the hot tub. I set the towel I'd brought with me from my room near the edge of the steaming water and slowly lower myself into the water, relishing the warmth and energy coursing through my body. I spend the next two hours rotating between the hot tub and the pool, even spending some time in the sauna at one point. I had the whole place to myself until around six-thirty when I was relaxing in a deck chair and heard someone enter the room.

"I must say I was surprised when after discovering you weren't in your room, the hotel staff told me they saw you entering the pool room. You're a very intriguing young man Percy" Mayumi says as she walks up to me, her boots clacking on the tile floor.

"Oh hey Mayumi, what's up?" I say, standing up and pulling my towel off my head. She smiles.

"I talked with the school board about letting you work at the school as an assistant to Mari while you're stuck here in Japan and they agreed on the condition that you do a few tests first. Oh and I brought you some spare clothes." She holds out the bundle that was draped over her arms. I take them and head to the changing rooms, quickly drying myself and dressing.

"So what kind of tests am I gonna have to do?" I ask, coming out into the lobby where Mayumi was waiting.

"Just some performance tests and a small interrogation so that they can confirm you're not a threat," She replies.

"Oh, ok."

"So what were  you doing in the pool room so early in the morning?" she asks, tilting her head sideways. I shrug.

"I didn't sleep to well so I came down here to clear my head. I'd've gone to eat something, but the breakfast bar doesn't open until seven."

She chuckles. "Well then, why don't we go get something to eat before heading to the school for your tests?"

I shrug. "Sure. I could do with some breakfast."

We head out to her car, the driver holding the back door open for us and closing it once we are situated inside.  Mayumi has the driver take us to this cozy little café for breakfast with some of the best crepes I'd ever eaten before finally taking us to the school where two old-looking men stand at the front entrance, waiting for something by the look of it. A few student shoot confused looks at them as they enter the building to start their day. Once out of the car and introduced to the school principle Mr. Momoyama and the vice president Mr. Yaosaka, I'm lead to a mostly empty room with high metal-plated walls and large rectangular lights inset in the ceiling. on one side of the room was a contraption that looked kinda like an MRI scanner with less bulk that had a few black cords connecting it to a workstation with several computers set up on it. There was also this odd contraption-thing that had a low podium thing facing the wall six feet in front of it. Between the wall and the podium, there was an single inlaid track with a low square object sitting at the podium's end. I wonder what that is?

Mayumi's P.O.V.

Percy is asked some questions by the board and gives some answers that make me wonder again who he is. From his answers, it doesn't seem that he knows anything about CADs or activation spells, or really anything regarding magic. I can tell though that while he seems to be getting more and more confused as he answers the board's questions as best that he can, he's also trying to hide something. Once Mr. Momoyama and Mr. Yaosaka deem him as non-threatening, he is lead to the magic exercise station and told to move the block back and forth. He looks at the examiner with a look of utter bewilderment.
