When I woke up again, it wasn’t due to Mark’s shouting, but America’s instead.
“Come on, Holly!” America yelled in my ear. “We gotta get going, dude! China will totally catch us at this rate!”
I sat up with a cloudy mind. “What? China? He knows where we are?”
“Well, no, but he could find out any second and totally bomb us or something!”
I groaned and fell back against the soft pillows. “Wake me up when we absolutely have to leave.”
The door opened and closed and England’s voice met my ears. “Is she up yet?”
“Kinda,” America replied.
I sighed. “Why are we up at,” I checked the clock, “seven-thirty?”
England came over. “We need to get out of here as soon as possible. We’ve gotten a tip that China might know where we are.”
I gave America a look out of the corner of my eye. “Thanks for the info.”
“Anyways,” England continued, “let’s get packed. We can eat a free breakfast here and then we should get on the road.”
After I got dressed, we headed down to the lobby to get some breakfast. America immediately headed for the waffle maker and, while that was cooking, he filled his plate with a bunch of other stuff. I made a beeline for the bagels and cream cheese before getting a banana and some apple juice. England just kind of pursed his lips at everything before deciding on some fruit and a croissant.
While we were eating, I kept a keen eye out for Mark. I really wanted to let him know how much he meant to me—it was my dream to tell him that.
“Who are you looking for?” America asked through a mouthful of waffle.
“Mark,” I answered absentmindedly.
He swallowed hard. “Who’s Mark?”
“Oh, he’s this YouTube gamer that I really like and he was in the room next to ours last night.”
England raised an eyebrow at me while America frowned. “Wait, how did you know that?”
I smiled. “Well, for one, he’s really loud. Two, I went over to see if it really was him.”
“So-So, you, uh, um, so you went over to his room last night?”
I gave America a weird look. “I mean, we just kinda stood in the hall and talked for a bit and then I came back into our room. Why are you asking?”
He opened and closed his mouth a few times before answering. “Well, China could’ve totally been there for all you know! I was just worried, dude!”
“Jeez,” I chuckled, rolling my eyes and taking another bite of my bagel.
We spent another fifteen minutes at our table before deciding that we should leave. I felt a little dejected as we went back up to our room to collect our things. Where was Mark? Was he still in his room, or did he leave for Comic Con really early?
