(A/N I just like the song, doesn't really have any real purpose to the story, I was just listening to it at the time.)

It had been 2 days since Y/n's . . . Um . . . Shaking experience. Lucifer hadn't left her side since then. He made time to drink and for bathroom breaks, but he refused to leave her alone. Because for the first time in his life he felt connected to another being. Of course he had the Detective, but she was... Different... So very different. Talking of the Detective, Lucifer had been ignoring her calls since then, also.

It was only when Decker actually paid him a visit did she see what was so distracting that he couldn't pick up. Then she it. She saw Lucifer laying with his wings loosely traipsed over the form of a sleeping woman. Decker didn't announce her presence, she could see the woman was not actually sleeping, as she stepped closer she saw that the woman's eyes were open, unblinking and dull. Lucifer's eyes however were sorely red and puffy, his nose a similar shade and his once bright, fox-like eyes were now almost as dulled down as those of the woman in his embrace. There was a chilling silence about the room and a feeling of happiness gone sour seemed to cling to every corner of Lucifer's penthouse. Decker felt sorry and worried for the fallen angel and the young woman - whom she seemed to know, but couldn't put her finger on their name.

Just then, Decker got a million notifications from Ella texting her. The connection was obviously a lot better up here than elsewhere. Chloe skim-read the messages and one name stuck out the most Y/N L/N. Something clicked, it was like all the lights became brighter around her. Chloe could suddenly remember her, it was like she had knocked down a wall she hadn't known she'd built for herself. Chloe remembered meeting the young woman at the precinct on her first day, offering her a cup of coffee, talking about cases until dawn, helping one another out emotionally and Chloe remembered that one line that Y/n said which seemed to change everything.

"People only believe what they want to, I suppose it's the same for remembering things . . . or rather, people - in my case. But that's okay. You'll forget me like all the others, but I'm gonna enjoy this as much as I can for however long our time lasts together!"

At the time, Chloe didn't realise how true and how right her young friend was. . . But now, she did almost definitely.

"Y/n . . ." Chloe spoke, barely above a whisper.

Lucifer's wing retracted as the young woman beneath it suddenly jumped off the bed, Lucifer's eyes widened - still slightly dull - and his lips parted, no words following, though. Left arm flung over his other side as Y/n sprang from his embrace.

"CHLOE!" Y/n threw herself at Detective Decker.

Lucifer sat up in bed.

"Oh, Y/n", Chloe's voice was muffled by tears of joy and by the white undershirt that Y/n was still wearing since the night she had last seen her.

Lucifer propped himself up fully and stretched his wings. He wiped his nose on his sleeve and took a swig from his glass of whiskey, swallowing dryly.

  "Chloe . . . I can't believe you remember me. . . How?" Y/n asked confused, "But... I'm not complaining!" She clarified.

Chloe tilted her head curiously but didn't answer. Y/n's smile fell, knowing full well that there would be no logical answer, it was probably just an off-day for her curse. Y/n covered her sadness up quickly and said, "Ah, well. Never mind!" She wafted her hand like it was nothing that mattered, when really her happiness was on the line... Not that that seemed to have ever mattered in the past.
