It was July 12th, and I was leaving to go on vacation with my family- mom, dad, and older brother Ryder. We were on our way to Mexico when suddenly my dad got a phone call.

" Yeah, what's up James I can't talk, I told you that we are on our way to Mexico, " announced dad clearly.

" I'm sorry to bother but there are some issues with the new worker and he kind of lost four clients, that were willing to pay more than we would ever get," stated James fearfully.

" Oh my god! Is he nuts? I will be there in about an hour," dad replied angrily.

That's when we knew once again that dad had to leave us for work again. I was for once enthusiastic about going on vacation to relax with the whole family but that obviously had to change because of dad.

" I'm sorry guys, but I have to leave back to work due to a emergency with a new worker," dad whispered.

" Of course," mumbled Ryder furiously.

The week I'm Mexico went by somewhat quickly because I met a sweet and cute boy that stayed at the hotel near ours. We were back in North Carolina on July 20th. I was overwhelmed with going back to school in September on the 8th, but on the bright side I would finally see Emma after her long cruise in the Bahamas. My birthday was coming up on August 1st, but I wasn't planning on doing anything special besides going to the pool and to my cousins.

Before I knew it, it was August 1st, my 10th birthday but I didn't really care as much as always. When my birthday had passed and soon after it was the first day of school, the first day of the 5th grade, another year of misery. I walked into my new 5th grade classroom when I saw Emma siting next my worst enemy Olivia. I got frustrated because me and Emma were like sisters since grade 1. I walked to the table they were siting at and said hi, but Olivia just ignored me while Emma just simply answered hi without a hug or scream of joy. I was sure that Olivia had not only take my social life but now my best friend who was always there to hear my thoughts and my worst times when i needed help and forgiveness. I was done with school and life.

I was leaving the first day of school surprised that Emma didn't even talk to me after saying hi because she was too busy talking with Olivia and the other girls. I came home and went straight to my room to cry into my pillow. Suddenly some akward images flew into my head and filled my eyes then quickly disappeared.
