I woke up the next morning, and remembered to check my phone, and read the text that Emma sent me late last night. To my surprise, it was about the new boy Tanner. The text read exactly:
" Hey Rachel, I saw you staring and drooling all over the new boy in school, Tanner. Just to let you know and make things clear, Tanner is mine. He just won't look good with you. He is super cute and I am super cute. So back off and go find yourself a different boy to fall in love with. By the way, if you try to communicate with him you will be dead. Kisses Emma."
After reading the offensive text message, I thought to myself. I don't care what she wants me to think about Tanner. I like him and I can't help it. And obviously I'm going to talk to Tanner to get to know him better. Not worrying the slightest bit about what Emma had texted me, I got ready for school and forgot that today was friday. thankfully I had the weekend of to off to relax.
I came into school dressed in a navy blue sugarlip, white cardigan, light washed jeans, and black combat boots. (This outfit is totally me) I was walking into the classroom when right next to me was Tanner. I smiled and said "Hey, how did you like your first day at school here?"
He smiled back and replied, " It's great, there are a lot of really nice kids."
I asked, "What are you interested in?"
"I'm in love with Soccer, but I also enjoy Basketball. And I know what your thinking, Wow he isn't the typical boy that loves to play football. So what are you interested in?" He says happily.
" Actually that's so true because I would think that you would like football, but that's really cool that your not like evry typical boy. And I love Volleyball and Dance. Now you must be thinking, wow she isn't in love with cheerleading, that's odd," I reply giggling.
" That's cool, and yeah your right about the cheerleading thing. You seem really nice and cool to hang out with," Tanner answered looking straight into my eyes.
" Thanks, and you seem really nice and cool to hang out with too. Well we better get to class, but just watch out for those football guys that will probably want you on their team, and those crazy cheerleaders," I warn him.
" Oh no worries, I definetly will," he says back.
I sat down at my seat, and started to freak out in my head. Oh my god, I just talked to my crush, and he thinks I'm cool. Now the only problem that will get in my way will be Emma. But thankfuly, I warned him about the cheerleaders and football players, because I definetly don't want him turning into one of those jocks.
The school passed by quicker than I thought it would, because I was daydreaming about Tanner the whole day. I was on my way home, and soon after realized that for once today wasn't that bad, until it was time to go to dance again. During dance I walked in with a big smile on my face, ready to dance my heart out, when I saw Emma stretching. No, this can't be happening, Emma is a cheerleader not a dancer.
Emma then explained to the class that she will be showing us an example of how to do an aerial (cartwheel with no hands) and a backhand spring, because she knows stunts. A huge weight lifted off of my shoulders when I heard that, because I would never be able to dance with her. I was doing jump tilts in dance and I still didn't really get the hang of the stunts. On my way out the door home, Emma stopped me and started to threaten me once again. I was getting nervous, but then I calmed down and walked away.
It was a great day today which was more than just odd, but awaiting me was a horrible day on monday. For now I was enjoying the amazing day that I had, and got ready to go to bed. I quickly fell asleep after being so tired from dance and school.
