(Y/N) Pov:
After escaping death's clutches, Hashirama pulled me to the side, and managed to get the heinous Uchiha out of the room. Once the doors were locked, Hashirama sighed once more, and meekly turned around to meet my eyes.
"So, that's who I'll be working with, I presume?" I questioned with a hint of distaste.
"Yes, I'm afraid that is Uchiha Madara, one of the village's founders alongside me and my brother," the hokage pouted.
"Madara, huh? Well I'll be damned, who put his panties in a twist? I admit it wasn't very tasteful of me to spit up on him, but it was an accident! And he was actually trying to kill me? Over a MUFFIN?" I shouted.
"Now now, (Y/N), don't waste your breath, complaining won't change the way he is. All Uchiha are the same. Power-hungry, miserable scum," Tobirama scowled.
I watched as a gloomy cloud seemed to radiate over Hashirama. The two brothers began bickering amongst one another. It seemed as though the eldest of the two had at least some respect for the Uchiha.
"That's enough Tobirama. What will (Y/N) think of you spewing all this ignorance? I say we forget about this and show her around like good hosts. What do you say, champ?" Hashirama chuckled while ruffling up his little brother's hair.
Tobirama gave his brother a death-glare, which Hashirama blatantly ignored with a smile on his face.
I chuckled to myself while witnessing the dynamic the brothers had. They were complete opposites, in both appearance and personality, and yet they seemed so compatible. I was about to reminisce on the bonds I once shared with my siblings until a voice shook me out of my thoughts.
"Let's get a move-on, friends!"
Hashirama took the lead as all three of us made our way down to the infirmary, where dozens of wounded shinobi were sprawled out in pain.
I was of course used to the sight of blood, and the scent of rotting flesh, but nonetheless it was a gruesome sight.
"(Y/N), as I'm sure you're aware, my healing abilities are world-renowned. However, due to my obligations as Hokage, I simply do not have the time to tend to all of these people. Once I heard you excelled in medical ninjutsu, I knew I just had to see for myself. Think of this is an audition. Let's see those skills of yours!"
I nervously chucked in response, and kneeled down to tend to the wounded man closest to me.
Don't screw up, (Y/N). I've got to impress those two if I want to gain their respect. God, they're probably judging me right now.
I briefly glanced backwards, expecting two menacing glares, but I was met with Hashirama giggling excitedly like a schoolgirl, and an uninterested Tobirama.
Without further thought, I took a deep breath, and let my chakra flow through my hands, and onto the man's broken leg. It was only a matter of seconds until the bone had completely healed. I took the liberty of healing the rest of the men, all of which had healed in a few minutes.
Hashirama clapped with joy, while an amused smirk made its way onto Tobirama's face.
"You healed all those men in such a short amount of time. I'm sensing you also still have more than enough chakra left. I must say, I'm impressed," Tobirama admitted.
"(Y/N) you are simply full of surprises! You're healing abilities are practically on the same level as mine! Oh this is just great, isn't it Tobirama?" Hashirama squealed.
"Hn," he replied.
I looked down at my feet and chuckled, not used to the praise I was currently receiving. It did feel good to be finally be acknowledged, though.
A little while later, we all returned back to the hokage building.
"I have duties I must attend at this time. (Y/N), you've clearly proven yourself to be an expert medical ninja, but I would like to see if you can put up a good fight as well. Meet me on the training grounds tomorrow at the crack of dawn. Don't be late," the ruby-eyed man ordered, and made his way out of the room.
"Ah, classic Tobirama. Always so serious, that one. Nevermind, let me show you where you will be staying, (Y/N)," Hashirama offered.
"Wait what? D-does that mean I got the job? I haven't even shown you two my fighting skills yet!" I worryingly exclaimed.
To that, Hashirama simply let out a hearty laugh.
"(Y/N), you got the job long before you walked through the gates of the village. I had my ANBU observe you, and they only had good things to report back to me."
"Oh, well that's a relief. W-wait just a minute you had your men SPY ON ME?" I shouted, enraged at the violation of privacy that was just revealed to me.
"Ahaha, follow me to where you'll be staying!" the hokage blurted out while running far away from me.
I sighed in disapproval, but began following him to what would be my new home.
It wasn't long until Hashirama led me to a secluded area placed directly in between both the Senju and Uchiha compounds. We were led down a trail lined with beautiful sakura trees, still in bloom. At the end of the short trail was the most beautifully constructed wooden cottage I have ever seen.
My jaw dropped as Hashirama chuckled, amused by my reaction.
Vines and flowers adorned the balcony, spiraling in different directions. The rays from the setting sun shone directly onto the house, giving it all an ethereal look. Surrounding the house were a few large sakura trees. I made my way to the backyard, and my jaw dropped impossibly lower.
I was met with what seemed to be a large pond, made lively with dozens of koi and ducks. Cattail plants and wildflowers surrounded the perimeter of the pond. I ran to the little wooden dock and reached down to run my hands through the cool water, and let out a laugh.
"Hashirama, this is better than I could have ever imagined! Thank you so much," I graciously thanked him.
"Ah, don't mention it. You're working with me, Tobirama, and Madara now, and trust me we'll test your patience, so you only deserve the best. You're going to bring great things to this village, (Y/N). But until then, make yourself at home, and have a good night's rest. You have a long day of training ahead of you".
"Thank you, Hashirama. I mean it. You have a good night," I smiled at him, and with that, he made his way back to his own abode.
Once I was sure he has gone, I squealed and jumped up and down in happiness and excitement, and sprinted inside to explore my new home. The orange light from the setting sun cascaded through each of the windows, making the place more dreamy than I ever could have imagined.
Quickly transporting to my original house, I frantically began filling boxes with my belongings, wanting to unpack before the darkness of the night faltered my vision. Before transporting the last of the boxes to my new home, a faint mewl stopped me in my tracks. I glanced over to my windowsill as a smile crept onto my face.
Little Guy, my feline friend, had come to say his goodbyes.
After little thought, I decided to take him along with me to the village. After all, I couldn't just leave behind my most trusted companion. I placed him carefully into the box, made a hand sign, and transported to the village.
Hashirama wouldn't mind, right?
