spirit phone theory

(this part of it is actually on the google doc i just decided to seperate it from the theory bc that makes sense so yeah) 

This is a theory that I've thought of for the album Spirit Phone, created by the incredibly talented Lemon Demon, AKA Neil Cicierega. I've been listening to this album for a while now and I've been trying to find some way to make a theory about it, but nothing would come to mind. Eventually, it happened, and now it's 3 AM and I'm happy stimming really hard.

Before reading, please note that -

1. If this theory has already been made by someone out there on the internet, I literally had no idea. This idea popped into my head while I was getting dressed after a shower and I immediately went to google docs to write down my ideas, so if it has been done before I deeply apologize.

2. For my reasoning, I will only be using what clues I can gather from the instrumentals and the lyrics of the songs, not fan theories for the meanings, for example, the theory that the touch-tone telephone narrator is in love with a radio host. I know it's a lemon demon song so it's only natural to assume that the narrator is gay and yearning, and I do absolutely adore that theory, but that explanation won't be taken into account because it's a fan theory, as far as I know, so please don't come for me because I used a different meaning for a song than a fan theory that is widely known by the entire fandom (also nero if you're reading this knife fight isn't about dicks go fuck yourself /j). I will also be using things said by Neil in the Spirit Phone commentary that's up on YouTube, which you can watch if you want, but it isn't necessary for this. 

3. As well as not using fan theories for my reasoning, I will only be using the main 14 songs as backing for this, which means I will not be mentioning any of the bonus tracks. You're At The Party fucks HARD, but it will not be used in this essay / theory / god only knows. Also I don't think that I could fit Pizza Heroes in here anywhere without it seeming absolutely ridiculous. With this, I highly recommend listening to at least the main 14 Spirit Phone songs before reading if you haven't already, because if not this most likely won't make much sense.

4. This is just a little theory I came up with, I am not Neil Cicierega or affiliated with him or Lemon Demon in any way, so this is not the actual "canon" backstory behind the Spirit Phone album. If this isn't the actual meaning of the album and I end up making a fool out of myself, it's not the first time that's happened.

It's now 4:15 AM and I started this at 3 and I haven't even gotten into the actual theory yet, so I'm going to hurry before I accidentally pull an all-nighter. (update i pulled an all nighter oops) (another update: this ended up taking about 3-4 days to write DJFHIDFK)
