He so much wants to experience the life-changing event of having a child ofhis own and living his life for him, as his bestfriend Ik Jun does, so it'sdisappointing to see that he has to set aside his own happiness to give way tothe happiness of others. Ik Jun's true feelings for Song Hwa is out in the open. The not-so-flashy confession in episode 10 left us feeling romantic all of a sudden, but the forced confession during the NS dinner left us feeling uncomfortable. Chi Hong went way out of line for compelling Ik Jun to answer a question he previously 'almost' affirmed to but did not comment on. It is notable how Ik Jun and Song Hwa reacted when Seun Bin asked the question first, compared to when Chi Hong asked the same question. When awkwardness and uncomfortability enveloped the air surrounding the party, plenty of soju came in handy. Ik Jun's aggravation, frustration, and even the 'bring-it-on' look on his face may all be attributed to his drunken stupor, but it does not change the fact that now, others know he has feelings for Song Hwa, and it will affect everything between them.
It'ssurprising how things can instantaneously turn upside down. Seeing Ik Junplayfully eavesdropping in Jun Wan's conversation with Ik Sun, eating thesamgyupsal with Jeong Won in a headstart while Jun Wan and Song Hwa look infrom the outside, having snow crabs for dinner and almost catching hisbestfriend and sister backhugging and kissing (I think he knew, though)...you'llthink that you will never see Ik Jun so broken. Having the same experience, Ireally felt his pain, and it went right through my whole being. Watching himall red from being drunk, singing while trying so hard to hold back histears...Ugh! I need a tissue....😭
The squad chose this night to get dead drunk, because, perhaps once in every two decades, all of them simultaneously have issues they want to temporarily forget: Seuk Hyung just lost his father, probably pressured by his mother's situation, and overwhelmed by the thought of being a 'big brother' to an illegitimate child; Jeong Won is torn between the different directions his heart and mind are pointing him to; Jun Wan so desperately wanting to propose to Ik Sun, but had to hold back for her sake; and Ik Jun's seemingly unrequited feelings. It takes a superwoman that is Song Hwa to deal with all this chaos.
