[VRMMORPG] Reincarnator's Road

Prologue

[Year 2046]

Ryland paces about while glancing at his phone every few seconds. At the same time, a large group of people in black suits surround a man stepping out of a limosine all the while smiling strangely

That same smile Ryland has seen numerous times, it's the smile of corruption.

'Welcome Mr.Presid~~'

'Ahhhh!' screams of true terror invade the building as Ryland takes back his dagger which is currently inserted in the President's back right where his heart is.

Just as quick as he came, he fled. Many armed bodyguards are on his tail yet he is laughing, his job is complete.

He looks down at his phone and clicks the bright red 'CONFIRM' button, and recieves a notification that $5 Billion is transferred into his account, along with an anonymous text which read ' Thanks, good job. '. 

*BANG* *CHk~* *BANG*

The smile on Ryland's face quickly dissapears as he looks slightly downwards, only to see a splurt of blood coming out of his neck, dying his hands and clothes red. He stops running.

'heh.. even if I die in the end, I still killed that bastard and gave the people of the world freedom again' 

The person he assassinated is the current world president, correct the world has been unified under one organisation known as 'Frontier Alliance', this organisation says that they aim to rid the world of the two evils 'World Assassins', which Ryland currently works for as a [Rank Nine] Assassin, the highest rank with only two known individuals having possessed this rank, one being deceased and the other being Ryland.

and the other 'evil' being 'Dream Corporation' which took over the Virtual Reality world in 2026 with the game 'Wrath' that over 95% of the worlds population ended up playing.

Anyway.. Back to the present. 

~Darkness, and a suprisingly long,igh are the only things seen and heard.

After an immeasureable amount of time, Ryland opens his eyes again, but what greets him is neither a boundless expanse of clouds with golden gates or a devilish red oblivion with demons. In fact what he sees is a vaguely familiar cramped apartment room, so small that from what he can see there are only 3 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom and he can see the front door from where he's lying down on the bed!

As the feeling of drowsiness is being washed away, what instead his face shows is now pure shock. He quickly touches all around his face, making sure that he is thinking properly

"Did i drink too much before yesterday?"

This apartment is the very same apartment he had when he was 18 years old, still in university studying to be a computer engineer. His parents think that he has a part time job and is self-supporting but in reality he only told them that in order to stop them sending him money as he knows the financial struggle they are having themselves, they are probably on the lowest end of society that there possibly can be, he even had to quit university as he couldn't pay the tuition fees any longer which meant he couldn't complete his degree and thats how he got introduced to the underworld of London and eventually became an Assasin.

It seems, some way or another he has gone back in time and is in the body of his previous, 18-year-old self. Looking at his cracked nokia brick phone on the right side of his bed one of the few 'assets' or so he calls it that he owns, the date reads January 11th 2026, 09:14.

'I... I'm back?' he thought to himself, still awestruck by what is happening but he quickly regains his bearings and decides 'Since I've been given a second chance, I need to make sure i use this properly and change my life for the better'

'Two months before Dream Corporation releases 'Wrath'?'. He now has a general idea of where exactly in time he is. The world is about to completely change because of Dream Corporation's new gaming system known as 'True Virtual Reality' where there are headsets which allow you to completely immerse yourself in a virtual world. Eventually, in the timeline he was from, over 95% of the population played this game, including him, infact he was a pretty famous character known as 'Shadow'.

Although he never participated in tournaments due to him not wanting to reveal his identity, he started playing around 5 years after the game was released when he finally saved up enough to buy himself a headset, even though at that time capsules were basically the thing all players used.

He had knowledge of a full 5 years of the game, why five years? well.. the game only ran for 5 years since in 2031 a world war erupted between 3 parties, 'Dream Corporation', 'World Assasin Organisation' and the 'Frontier Alliance'. After this war, due to underhanded tactics, the 'Frontier Alliance' ended up in a better position and completely banned the game let more power control fall into their hands. 

In fact this made the welfare of people worse because playing the game was known to extend lifespans of people because of less stress being put on them mentally if they play the game with a capsule.

Ryland became angry at just the thought of this unfairness, which is the reason he assassinated the world president and as a result, he died.

Ryland clenched his fist and held his head up making an oath. 'I swear this time i will use this chance and eliminate you before you can grow demon Ranger'.
