A brief history

A long time ago, when the Wolf People roamed freely, there was a man. A jealous man, that wanted to be like them. His name was Lykaon and he wanted so much to be a wolf, he sacrificed his eldest son to the dark god, Hades.

By using his dark magics, Hades turned Lykaon into a demon dog. Lykaon sprouted three heads and dawned the name, Cerverus. His rampage lasted 7 years. Anyone bitten by Cerverus had their soul forever marked by the beast. This is how Hellhounds were born. With his army, Cerverus plague swept across the land.

Humans across the world fled to aid of the Wolf People, Loup Garous. The Loups offered to teach them the Change but, fearing they would lose their souls, only the brave and wise few would listen. These few became the first Skinwalkers and, with the Loups, formed a resistance to Cerverus and his army.

With their knowledge, the Skinwalkers healed those infected by Ceverus' disease. Though they were marked, their souls were saved. These Lycanthropes joined with the Skinwalkers and the Loup Garous against Cerverus and his Hellhound army. Thus commenced the Wolf War.

The war took many lives, nearly rendering human kind extinct. Those humans that survived turned to Lykaon's only remaining son, The Hunter.

He taught them how to fight the wolves, but seeing no difference between any of them, treated all wolves as evil. With his own army, The Hunter defeated Ceverus. He used a dagger made from Cerverus' own fang to stop the mighty beast.

On the brink of death, Cerverus uttered one, final prophecy:

"When the day is shrouded in shadows and the night dripping with blood, I shall return to cleanse this land of weakness!"

With his death, Ceverus' hoard scattered to the four winds, awaiting the day of their Master's rise.

The Skinwalkers and Lycanthropes also scattered, being outcasted from their homes, to try and find a better life.

The Loup Garous also tried to live the lives they had before, but the war had changed the human's view of them. They were no longer revered for their abilities, but feared.

The Hunter capitalized on this fear and this sparked the beginning of the Great Hunt, the mass genocide of all wolf kind. Those that survived, have remained hidden all these years.
