OPERATION ROOM IN HOSPITAL

"He's crashing," Zoe said. "Paddles! Unsynchronize two hundred... clear! Three hundred!"

"Three hundred!" a nurse repeated.

"Clear!"

The patient croaked like a frog and shook.

Zoe jerked awake to find a bullfrog on her stomach and Samantha shaking her, laughing.

"Ah!" Zoe cried, glaring at her sister. "Bluebell, Alabama... right."

The frog croaked.

"Sam, what are you doing here?" Zoe asked.

"What, I can't visit my favorite sister?" Samantha questioned, earning a look. "Okay, fine. I came to make sure you were up. The Mayor wants to do breakfast with us."

---

Three gossiping women sat on a bench.

"They set up shop in Harley Wilkes' old office," old lady one said. "They've been seen all over town with the Mayor."

Old lady two/Delma Warner added, "Brick's furious!"

"They say they're Harley's illegitimate love children!" The women gasped.

"Well... that explains those shorts. I suppose the pediatrician fits in a little better here with that flannel."

"Are you sure they're not talking about us?" Zoe asked.

"Of course not..." Lavon lied, changing the subject, "so um, Harley was both your father? Man, I did not see that coming."

"I know, it's all so surreal... us being here, it must be a sign."

"Hmm. And do you two believe in signs?"

"Sam and I believe that Harley was our dad. Our real dad. And we owe it to ourselves to take a year to figure out who he was... walk a mile in his shoes. Which should take us around Bluebell about eleven times."

Samantha frowned. "Be nice, Z. I'm not sure if I believe in signs per se, but I do want to find out who my real father was."

Lavon frowned. "Oh, now as Mayor of this town, Lavon Hayes takes offense. Thank you, Samantha for the kinder words. But as the co-chair of the Tourism Council, I will ignore it, to tell you that any journey on the eastern shore begins at the Rammer Jammer. Home of the best po' boy this side of Mobile Bay. You two in?"

"I'm here, might as well make the most of it," Zoe replied. "Lead us to your people!"

Samantha nodded. "Yeah, why not. I'm hungry, after all."

"All right," Lavon said.

RAMMER JAMMER

"Never met a New Yorker before. Let alone two," Tom Long said. "Do you two know Regis?"

"Tom, don't be such a plebe!" Dash told him. "Zoe! Samantha! I'm Dash Dewitt. You know, I do a theatre trip every April - The Book of Mormon sent me over the moon and back!"

"Oh," Zoe and Samantha commented.

"So what's your deal - you two married? Got a boyfriend?" Shelley Ng questioned.

"You two lookin'?" Tom asked.

Lavon looked at the waitress. "Uhh, Shelley, we'll take three number fives, with grits. Thank you."

"Mmm," Zoe hummed.

Samantha looked at Tom. "No, I'm not looking for anyone. Not for awhile."
