Viviana:
"Are you okay?" Terrence's soothing voice pulled me from my thoughts. We had been walking for about 10 minutes and had just reached the pack grounds.
"Yeah," I felt my face flush as I recalled the last few minutes of our date, "Why wouldn't I be?"
He flashed a smile that sent butterflies down through my stomach. He looked amazing in the full moonlight. Suddenly he bent down and scooped me up into his arms, making me giggle.
"Well, it's late and we still have a long way to go before we get back home."
I cuddled into his strong embrace, grateful for the long walk ahead.
"Aren't you going to get tired?" My head popped up from his shoulder when I remembered how long the walk really is. Sure, Terrence is a fast runner, but it was still at least 10 miles to the Main House at the center of the territory.
"What do you mean?" He raised an eyebrow at me, his golden eyes shimmering in the soft glow of the moonlight. His beard had gotten a bit longer since we first met, but other than that he hadn't changed one bit. His soft eyes and gentle smile pulled me in closer.
Damn, he looks amazing right now.
"Running the entire way back home while carrying me." I cleared my throat and my thoughts from my head. "Aren't you gonna get tired out?"
I'd feel bad if it did, especially if the night goes where I hoped it will. We'd had a few steamy nights before, but no where close to actual sex.
I kind of felt bad for making Terrence wait so long. I guess part of me was always waiting for him to come to his senses and realize that he didn't want to be with a human. I mean he was so nervous to even talk to me in the beginning.
I felt a smile slowly curl up my lips as I remembered my first days out of the city. I had never expected to find what I did.
"You're joking, right?" Terrence's pace slowed down and came to a full stop.
"Uhhhh, nope." I felt my face flush again as I awkwardly chuckled, waiting for him to either put me down, or keep running. "I don't think so."
"Would you rather I shifted?" He sighed as he set me down, my body slowly sliding against his. "We'd be there in half the time."
I brushed myself off and readjusted my dress. When I looked back up at him, there was a sly smirk on his face.
"If you want to." I cautiously smiled back, cocking an eyebrow.
What is that smile for?
He took a few steps back before shifting into his beautiful wolf, who came trotting up to me. His thick coat shone with each bounce. I laughed as he licked my face before scratching under his chin and kissed his forehead.
Shaking himself out, he moved forward a few steps and laid down so I could get on his back. Once I was all settled, I made sure to get a good grip on his scruff.
"Ahhh!"
I screamed as he took off at full speed. Every muscle in my body tensed as he took his first leap into the air. The sudden gust of wind pushed my head back and stung my eyes. The usually large trees turned to merely wisps in the shadows.
I took in sharp breaths of cool air, feeling his wolf move steadily beneath me. Soaring over fallen logs, weaving in and out of the darkness. Gliding across the forest floor so gracefully, like we were one with it.
