It was the first day of school for me at William McKinley High School in Lima Ohio. I walked inside the doors, and took in the surroundings of people standing and crowding around lockers, talking loudly with a few things flying around. I pulled my bag closer to me as I managed to cut through the crowd to get to my locker. I quickly got my books, and then headed off quietly to find my class.
I was the "newbie" here. I had just transferred from the Canadian Dance academy. I had spent the past 1.5 years there, but movd here since my father got a large promotion at this company, and we moved to Lima Ohio. We were already extremely rich, but father liked to have the most money he could have, so I was forced to spend my last year or so here in this small, remote town of Lima Ohio.
I entered the classroom, which already had a couple of students in it, and sat in the second to last, back right seat in the class. I didn't really want to talk to many people.
"hi are you new here?" a guy asked, as he sat next to me in class. I sighed, and nodded my head.
"I'm Jake Puckerman" he says, holding out his hand for me to shake, and I smile politely.
"Calysta Van Knightsley" I reply, politely.
"Pleasure to meet you. Where did you move from?" he asked.
"Canada" I reply, and luckily class started, so I didn't have to talk to him again.
It was finally lunchtime, and I didn't really want to eat in the cafeteria. Everyone seemed extremely nice, but I just liked to be alone. At the academy, I had a lot of time to think. None of the dancers wanted to socialize very much as we were all there for our dream- dancing. I had made a few friends, but they weren't life-long or substantial.
I walked in the hallways and found the auditorium. I needed to practice for my audition anyways, so I headed on stage, and started to play some music softly on my IPod.
Finn's POV
I was going to the auditorium with Mr Schue and Artie to work on Grease, which was just at the beginnign stage of auditions. As we approached the doors, we heard soft music already playing, just starting actually. We all looked to each toher, and creeped into the auditorium, seeing a girl singing "Lovely" by Sara Haze, and dancing.
She was absolutely breath taking - she had shimmering golden bleach blonde hair that was slightly curled, and she wore a flowy white dress, which showed off her glwoing tan. She was extremely skinny, but beautiful. you could tell she was toned.
She had begun singing, and her voice rang like church bells, and then after a certain period, she had stopped singing, and transitioned into her dance, twirling and leaping and basically flying across the stage. This unknown girl was incredibly, graceful, all adjectives I could think of rolled into one.
When the song ended, I couldn't help myself, as well as Mr Sche and Artie, and we clapped. She looked up at us, with wide eyes, frightened almost, and ran out of the room.
We looked to each other.
"We need to find her." I said. "She is perfect"
Both of them agreed, and we dispersed.
Calysta's POV
I kept my head low for the rest of the day. Seriously, why were they there? Why did they have to listen to me? I didn't want people to know me for right now.
I had managed to get through most of the week, till Thursday, without anyone noticing me... and then I saw one of the guys who was there. He has stopped at my locker while I was getting books.
"hello" He said.
"hi" I said, not really wanting to talk to him.
"I saw you singing and dancing on Monday, and I just wanted to say you were amazing. Im Finn Hudson." he said.
"thank you. Calysta Van Knightsley" I rpelied.
"Do you know what Glee Club is?" he asked. I nodded. Of course, before I came here, I researched the school.
"Your One Directions Glee Club won nationals last year." I stated. He looked a little taken aback.
"Yes. I came here to ask you if you wanted to join?"Finn asked. I sighed, and looked directly at him. Finn was actually pretty attractive, scratch that- really attractive.
"I'll have to see" I said, as I would have to talk to my career manager.
"Well, I hope you do. We are doing a musical, Grease, and I would love for you to audition for the part of Sandy. I think you would be perfect" Finn said smiling.
"I will think about it" I said, smiling a bit though.
"Good. Here's my number if you have any questions about it at all. Auditions are tomorrow" Finn said, as he handed me a slip of paper, and then left.
I sighed, and finally left to go home.
"good afternoon Miss Van Knightsley" our maid said, as I came through the front door. I smiled at her.
"Good afternoon, Gina" I said, and went upstairs to unpack my backpack from today and begin working on homework before my coach and manager came.
At promptly 3:30pm, my trainer, Ryan, came in, and we began to work on the new dance routines, and a little bit of vocals as well.
At 6:30, Trish, my manager came in.
"So how is school?" She asked, as we sat down in my office. I needed my own "space", for homework and applications for auditions. It kept everything organized and my manager could come in and talk here formally.
"Good. There is a Glee Club there that won Nationals last year, and the head of Glee personally requested me to join as well as tryout for Sandy in Grease, the school's musical." I said, and Trish smiled widely.
"Okay, so join Glee Club and do the musical, but I also have auditions for you Saturday and Sunday for the ballet in Cincinnatti, that you've been preparing for with Ryan. I will make sure you are all taken care of for those. When are the auditions for Grease?" Rish asked.
"Tomorrow" I said, and Trish nodded.
"You'll be fine. Ryan, go over a song or two for her to audition with, and I'll go get some clothes for you to wear." Trish said, and she left to go do her errands, and Ryan and I practiced a few upbeat, new songs for the audition.
Finn's POV
I was hoping she would show up. I had a huge doubt that she wouldn't, but I had a hope that she would. Calysta would be the perfect Sandy, even both Mr Schue and Artie agreed, although with a little doubt. Mike and Mercedes were here to help as well.
"She's beautiful, definitely has the looks, and she has an incredible voice and moves, but I didn't see the energy." Artie said. I nodded, understanding, but we then saw her come on stage.
"Hi, why don't you tell us your name and then just start" Artie said. she nodded.
"My name is Calysta Van Knightsley" She said, and then the music started playing.
The song she chose was "Red" by Taylor Swift, and there was so much energy in that one song. I looked to Artie and he nodded along with me when it was over.
"That was spectacular. absolutely incredible" Artie said, as all of us "judges" stood up to give her a standing ovation.
"Thank you" she replied.
"what part would you like?" Artie asked.
"Sandy" She replied, looking at me. We all nodded, and she exited off the stage, smiling.
