Chapter 2
Today was the day we headed to Diagon alley to gather our school supplies. I was quite surprised that Mrs Weasley allowed us to come by ourselves without her or Mr Weasley with us. I suppose there is strength in numbers and with us five I'm sure we would be safe.
"different isn't it?" Ginny said to me.
"it's strange." I said as we walked around Diagon alley. "Diagon alley is always beaming with people, now it's just empty and sad. Look at half the shops there closed, all gone."
"how are you doing?" Ginny asked me.
"do you mean in general or because of what's going on?" she looked at me hopefully. "I'm doing good Ginny truth be told you and your family have helped a lot. I miss my mum I'd do anything to find her, my dad on the other hand Its strange I don't miss him I just think our whole life with him was a lie" I smiled sadly at her. "but as long as I've got my friends and my non-blood family, I'll be fine." I squeezed her hand in reassurance. "plus, I've been keeping in touch with Tonks, she's great fun said if I need to I could go and stay with her and Lupin, you know if you get sick of me."
"we will never get sick of you." Ginny said bumping my shoulder.
We had finished all our necessity shopping and were now inside Fred and George's store. I had a basket filled with a few necessities puking pastilles just in case, nosebleed nougat is always a good way to get out of classes and you never know when Peruvian instant darkness powder will come in handy. I went and stood next to Hermione and Ginny who were staring at love potions.
"Yes, they really do work." Fred said as him and George stood next to us. "although the way we hear it sis you don't need it."
"meaning?" Ginny asked.
"well aren't you and Dean Thomas a thing again?"
"and?" Ginny replied as Hermione walked away.
"how about you Amanda, no boy at school you would like to impress." My mind instantly flipped to Draco, I shrugged it off.
"what if they don't go to school anymore?" I said smiling at them both.
"ahh Amanda, you flatter us." They said holding both their hearts.
"oh, you think I meant you?" I said laughing. "I meant Oliver Wood." They both laughed at me and through an arm around my shoulders.
"oh, how we will miss you when you go back to Hogwarts, now don't forget to pay for them." They said pointing to my basket and off they went.
I looked at Ginny and laughed as I headed to pay for my stuff.
"hey where are the other three?" I asked Ginny. I said looking around for Harry, Ron and Hermione.
"I don't know where they went, let's go find them." She said making her way for the door as I grabbed her arm.
"let's not, we will stay here and wait." I was scared to admit I was frightened to walk outside just us two into the dark unpopulated Diagon alley, it's not the same as it once was, it almost feels dangerous.
Ginny eyed me. "ok we'll wait." She said as she sighed. I couldn't tell if she was disappointed or not, but I didn't care, I didn't want a repeat of what happened at the ministry anytime soon.
