The two young boys we're asleep in each other's arms when they heard rustling of leaves on the bushes. Silent whispers where heard, as loud marching footsteps awoke the two in their deep slumber.

"K-Kookie... w-what's that?" Taehyung silently whispered as he scooted closer to the topless male who engulfed him in a very protective embrace. Taehyung was wearing Jeongguk's big tees that reached his mid-thighs as the other only wore his pants, his top naked. They could feel that there are million pairs of eyes are staring right through inside the hut, as cold midnight air swept through their bare feet.

"Shh..." Jeongguk shushed his scared lover as he slowly went beside his desk, grabbing his majestic sword, just in case, intruders will barge in.

Taehyung stood up but he felt the stinging pain on his ass, making him almost fall on the ground. Luckily, Jeongguk caught him. "On my back, pretty." Jeongguk whispered to him, as Taehyung's eyes teared up as he meekly nodded. The younger knelt on the floor as Taehyung climbed on his back, as he stood up again.

"They found us, Tae." Jeongguk spoke as he tightened his grip on Taehyung's legs around his hip. "W-Who?" Taehyung nervously asked his lover. "Your father." Jeongguk sighed heavily as he saw different kinds of shadows just behind the bushes, just beside their hut.

"W-What will happen to us, n-now? I-I-" Taehyung's lips quivered as he plunged his face against Jeongguk's nape, as Jeongguk felt something wet, and realized it was the older, crying his fears out. Jeongguk smiled reassuringly at Taehyung as he spoke.

"I'll protect you, Taehyung. And I won't let them tear us apart." Jeongguk bravely told him, as Taehyung nodded, silently sobbing. It pains Jeongguk seeing his beautiful lover like this. Tears don't suit him.

"It's fine, love. We'll be fine."
But then, leaves rustled around their hut again as Jeongguk posed himself, ready to run away with Taehyung on his back. Jeongguk has already made his decision. He'll protect Taehyung away from any harm, even tho it costs him his life.

After a few minutes of silence, Jeongguk heard cracking. He sniffed around the air as his eyes widened open in realization. The hut is being burnt! They need to get out of there! But Jeongguk knew troops already surrounded them, ready to ambush them once they got out of the burning house.

Jeon Jeongguk's POV

It's impossible to get out of this trouble without any wounds and bruises. But I don't care about myself. I only care for Taehyung. I'll protect him, no matter what.

Both our body sweats as we could feel the house being eaten by the scorching flames. Smoke entered our nostrils making both of us, cough.

I quickly paced towards the door, as at the count of three, I kicked the door open as I unsheathed my sword. And as what I've expected, I saw hundreds of palace soldiers surrounding us.

"Hey, Tae. Can you run?" I asked him as his doe eyes peeked behind me. How can he still be so cute when were in front of a very big trouble?

"Y-Yes. I think so." He spoke with a tiny voice. "Then you should go get running. I'll hold them up to buy you time."

"But what a-about you?" I put him down as I looked through his teary glassy eyes. "I'll be fine. I'll catch up to you." My words seems to sound like a goodbye to him, for he hugged me so tight that he even don't wanna leave.

"Promise me, you'll be back."

"I promise you, I'll be back."

"I l-love you, Kookie." Taehyung told me as tears streamed down his face as he pulled me into a deep, passionate kiss. Pulling away, I smiled. "Now, go."

He was unsure if he's gonna run away or not, but I urged him to just do so. Tears left his eyes as he sobbed goodbye, running deep into the woods. But as just Taehyung left, a man came.

"Jeon Jeongguk. The Prince of Busan. Who became my son's lover." A familiar voice said as the shadow behind the darkness showed uo. Revealing Taehyung's father, King Kim Namjoon.

"And what's the problem with that?" I told him. "The problem is a Jeon, fell in love with a Kim. Do you know how pathetic that sounds?" He barked back as he gritted his teeth.

"It doesn't sound pathetic, Sire. The most important thing is that he loves me, and I love him. We life each other. Isn't that enough for you to accept me to be with your son?" I told him as I stepped forward to the king, bravely, as the archers behind him, posed their selves, ready for attack.

"I don't fucking care if you're the son of Jeon Hyuseok. I'll give you one chance, Prince Jeongguk. Leave my son, and you'll be alive. Love my son, and you'll die. Choose your fate, prince."

"I won't leave Taehyung. I'd rather die protecting him than live without loving him."

"Then, die!" He screamed angrily as he pushed his closed fist up, telling his soldiers to get ready.

I know to myself that I'll lose this battle. Hundred vs. One. But if I die tonight, at least, I told Taehyung how much he meant to me. How much I love him.

At least I learnt how to love in my 22 years of living.

At least, I loved the right person. If I die...

I will die with no regrets.

"I love you, pretty-face."
