[16] The Uninvited

After prince Jeongguk's heart-to-heart talk with his mother, he finally went out of his room. His father was delighted about this and approached him one time.

"Finally! You've rid that bratty prince of Daegu out of your head, hm?" Hyuseok smirked making Jeongguk scoff.

"Everything you say disgusts me, Father." Jeongguk bitterly told as he clenched his fist, holding his self back from punching the shit out of his father for insulting Taehyung.

"Well, it's just that everything you do displeases me, Son." Hyuseok pierced his eyes through Jeongguk who just licked his inner cheek in annoyance.

"You approached me, and I know you're up to something. Or maybe you've already done it, so, tell me." Jeongguk impatiently told his father as he cannot spend another moment with a scumbag like him.

"Well, I've got you a fiancé. Treat that as a gift from me." Hyuseok told as he pours himself a glass of red wine. This seemed to tick Jeongguk off.

"What?! No. I'm marrying no one unless it's Tae!" Jeongguk growled, yanking the glass of red wine away, staining the dark outfit of the king. "And what? You're gonna marry the dead? Pfft. Stop making yourself look stupid, Jeongguk." Hyuseok retaliated as he wiped the stain away but it won't go off.

"If it's not him, it's no one." Jeongguk boldly told, and started walking away. But before he could go farther, by what his father told, Jeongguk suddenly was brought into an abrupt stop.

"If you don't obey me, then it's your mother's life I'll take. She's frail, Jeongguk. Do you really want her to die that fast? Hm?" Hyuseok cunningly said, making Jeongguk turn to him.

"No. You killing her? That's impossible! You can't kill her!She fucking loved you and you're using her? US?!" Jeongguk was beyond dumbfounded and frustrated at the same time.

'Is he still sane?!' Jeongguk scowled inside his mind but seekng the desperate and determined look of his father, Jeongguk knows he's serious.

"Marry Lalisa and be the King. Thus, I'll guarantee you you're mother's life." Hyuseok conditioned, making Jeongguk tsk and slowly walked away with fists clenched.

Jeongguk doesn't want to marry Lalisa but if he doesn't his mother will die. He doesn't have any other choice but to obey. But Jeongguk won't admit that he's been cornered. After this defeat, his eyes closed as a single tear fell from his right eye.

"I'm sorry, Tae... But I have to marry her."

•••"Dear cousin! I'm so glad that you could make it today!" Hyuseok's loud laugh was then heard after greeting the arrival of Busan's Duke, Francis Manoban or as well known as Duke Francis. But what caught Hyuseok's attention was the girl behind tge duke's back.

"Is she Lalisa Manoban? She's grown into a very, very gorgeous woman! Nice to meet you, milady." Hyuseok told as if he had only met Lalisa for the first time even tho Lisa's working under him for all her life.
