Only Me

Chapter 3

I fell asleep in the car on the way to our new house. The traffic was bad on the freeway. Literally felt like we were in the car for years. We finally got off the freeway and stopped at the store to get a few groceries before heading to the house.

Getting out of the car it felt nice outside, a little warm but nice. Me and my mom went into the store, I dipped and started looking for the candy section.

"Mmm and boom found it" I said walking towards the candy. I got a few different types of junk food... who am I kidding ya girl took the whole section. I'm talking about chips, sodas, cookies, popcorn, you name it I got it. I started walking towards the checkout but bumped into something.

More like someone, I looked up and it was this tall lightskin boy. He kind of looked familiar. He had gray eyes, curly hair and a pretty face... great one of these. I said "pay more attention dumbass"

"Me? You bumped into me, not the other way around" he said, pointing at himself.

"That's besides the point,  you could have easily moved out my way"

"Whatever man I'm not finna argue with you"

"Then don't,  bye"  I waved as I walked away. I saw my mom waiting in line so I walked up to her with my stuff and put it in the basket. My mom looked over at me then in the basket.

"Really?" She said

"Duh mom , I'm going to be feasting"

"Fat ass" she mumbled as she rolled her eyes.

We checked out and paid for our stuff. As we walk towards the car I see a familiar curly headed girl waiting in a car with the windows down.

"Michelle !?"

She looked over and smiled, " oh my god Alisha, hey how are you? " she started to get out of the car.

"I'm good, what are you doing here?" I walked up to her and gave her a hug.

"Wait for my brother, our mom sent us to the store to get a few things".

"All the way in San Diego?" I said stupidly.

" lol I live out here, silly".

"Omg I'm so slow" I cringed as I shook my head.

"Hahaha what about you, what are you doing out here?" She asked.

"I'm moving out here, me and my mom just made a quick stop before going to the new house".

" omg that's so cool when do you start school?"

"On Monday, but I'm not ready ughhh " I whined.

"It's okay,  you can hang with me and my brother, speaking of the devil" she says and I turn around to see who her brother was. Great, it was the dude who bumped into me.

"Omg did you really stay to harass me or am I just that hot" he smirked as he walked over.

"Oh lordy, you again, Michelle, tell me this isn't the brother you were talking about".

"Sadly, Alisha, meet my brother,  Malik."

"Yeah we met in the store because he decided to bump into me".

"YOU ran into me!!!" He exaggerated

"Whatever you say" I rolled my eyes "anyways I have to get going I'll see you later"

"Okay , it was good seeing you again, let me get your number before you go," she said. We exchanged numbers and said our goodbyes. I walked towards my car that my mom had been waiting in.
