Keefe was torn. He really liked Sophie, of course. He wanted to ask her out. Who wouldn't? The way the gold flecks in those deep brown eyes of hers sparkled like the stars when she smiled, and did he ever mention how cute she was when she worried?
On the other hand though, she had just gotten the news that she was "unmatchable". That didn't bother Keefe in the least, of course, but he wasn't sure how she would react. Would she get mad? Burst into tears? Or would she give in, like he always dreamed she would? He was debating this when his dad walked into the room.
His arrogant, selfish, heartless dad. He attempted to clear his mind with a joke. "Gee," he said, "to what do I owe this fine visit from the most amazing father in the entire universe?"
"Please. I do not have time for these jokes of yours. The only reason i would ever visit my insufferable son would be to tell him that Ms Foster called looking for him. Now get out of my sight before I burst. And young man, TUCK IN YOUR SHIRT!"
Keefe made quite a show of NOT tucking in his shirt as he walked out. When he got to his room, he replayed his dad's words in his head Sophie had called, looking for him! He had a sudden urge to re-style his hair. Then something moved in the corner of his room. "You can come out now, Ro," he said. She stepped into the light.
"Well, well, Lord Hunkyhair. I can tell you something on your mind. Could it be... a certain brown eyed elf?" She guessed.
"Very smooth, Ro." he joked. "And... could that be... the Ballad of Bo and Ro?!" He stared at the piece of paper clutched in her hand. "Have you been thinking about a certain goblin recently?"
"What? No!" She quickly hid the paper behind her back. She sent him the death glare to end all death glares. "Well I heard that Foster called. Aren't you going to call her back?"
"Right." Keefe took out his imparter. "Show me Sophie Foster."
